  • Patent number: 8326120
Abstract: An integrated circuit stores a module that executes applications that play digital streams. When the module is executed, the integrated circuit generates package information by merging files recorded on a first recording medium and a second recording medium, in accordance with merge management information, detects a plurality of playable titles from the package information, and selects one of the detected titles as a current title. The integrated circuit executes the application associated with the current title, and the executed application makes a request to update the generated package information by specifying new merge management information.

  • Publication number: 20120147314
Abstract: The display device (100) of this invention has pixels (P) arranged in columns and rows to form a matrix pattern. Each pixel (P) is defined by subpixels (R, G, B, Y) arranged in m columns and n rows (where n and m are integers and n and m?2) to form a matrix pattern and that include first, second, third and fourth subpixels (R, B, Y, G) representing first, second, third and fourth colors, respectively. In three arbitrary pixels (P) arranged in line in one of row and column directions, if the central one of the three is called a first pixel (P1) and the other two second and third pixels (P2, P3), the arrangement of the subpixels (R, G, B, Y) in the first pixel (P1) is different from that of the subpixels (R, G, B, Y) in the second and third pixels (P2, P3). The first subpixels (R) of the first and second pixels (P1, P2) are adjacent to each other, so are their second subpixels (B). The third subpixels (Y) of the first and third pixels (P1, P3) are adjacent to each other, so are their fourth subpixels (G).

  • Patent number: 8200065
Abstract: An integrated circuit includes a storage that stores a module that has a function of a virtual machine for executing an application recorded on a recording medium. The integrated circuit also includes a central processing unit that executes the module to cause the virtual machine to function and a decoder, that is distinct from the central processing unit, that decodes a video stream and an audio stream that are included in digital streams stored on a recording media. When the central processing unit executes the module, a package manager manages status information of the digital streams. If at least one of the digital streams is in an enable status, the decoder decodes the digital stream. When the decoder decodes the digital stream, the package manager changes the status information of another digital stream to an enable status or a disable status according to a request from the application.

  • Publication number: 20120113773
Abstract: A CAN driver receives vehicle information sent onto CAN. A diagnosis information acquiring module monitors whether an operation of a diagnosis record ECU itself is normal or not and thus generates diagnosis information. A timestamp information generating module generates timestamp information A per sec and generates timestamp information B in which a time difference from the generation timing of the timestamp information A is expressed on the unit of 1/100 sec. A diagnosis record module, each time the timestamp information generating module generates the timestamp information A, transfers a first type record containing the timestamp information A and the diagnosis information generated at this point of time to a memory manager, and transfers a second type record containing the vehicle information and the timestamp information B generated at this point of time to the memory manager.

  • Publication number: 20120002520
Abstract: A playback device reads a BD-J application from a BD-ROM and runs the BD-J application. The BD-J application causes, by using a socket connection API, the digital copy module of the playback device to execute copying of a protected content for portable terminals to a removable recording medium and setting of a resume playback point on the copied content. The resume playback point is specified by the BD-J application according to playback time information read from the PSR set.

  • Publication number: 20110305435
Abstract: A bytecode processing unit provided in a playback device is platform unit 20 that reads and runs a bytecode application recorded on read-only medium 105. The playback device includes: playback control unit 10 for controlling AV playback of digital streams; and machine unique function control unit 33 for performing machine unique functions unique to the playback device, to perform a control onto a content. APIs used by the bytecode application include API for playback control function, and API for socket communication. When the bytecode application requests playback control unit 10 to control the playback, it calls the playback control API to can instruct playback control unit 10 to execute the process. When the bytecode application requests execution of a machine unique function of the playback device, it instructs a machine unique function control unit to perform the process via a function call by the socket communication API.

  • Publication number: 20110307448
Abstract: In conventional managed copy, files are copied to the copy destination, while maintaining the file structure of the copy source. A problem pertaining to the conventional managed copy is that, when a partial copy, which changes the file structure of the copy source, is performed, the created disc does not conform to the standard and thus cannot be played back by the playback device. In the playback device of the present invention, a managed copy control unit 423 includes a mapping data processing unit 609, and in the case of a partial copy, copies a file to the copy destination disc 802 by changing its file name to a file name for use in the copy destination disc 802. With this structure, it is possible to create a disc that conforms to the standard and can be played back by the playback device.

  • Publication number: 20110299830
Abstract: To provide an application life cycle management method for use in switching a movie work that is a playback target within a storage medium on which a plurality of movie works are stored, which is equivalent to one for use in replacement of BD-ROM discs. When a playback target is switched within a local storage on which a plurality of movie works are stored, a playback device, which includes an input unit for issuing a movie work switching request, performs processing with use of a user operation performed on the input unit as a trigger, instead of the medium status change between ejection and insertion. This allows application life cycle management equivalent to one in the case of BD-ROM disc replacement.
