  • Publication number: 20090101390
Abstract: An electronic control unit includes a printed wiring board (50), electronic components (51 to 53) mounted on the printed wiring board (50), and a synthetic resin coating (57) formed by injection molding to cover the printed wiring board (50) and the electronic component (51 to 53). The electronic components (51 to 53) are housed in a protective case (75) that can resist pressure and heat during the injection molding of the coating (57). Thus, in the electronic control unit, an electronic component is not damaged by formation of a coating by injection molding so that the electronic control unit can always function normally.

  • Publication number: 20080041464
Abstract: A fuel supply system for a general purpose internal combustion engine is equipped with a sub-fuel tank that retains gasoline fuel supplied from a main fuel tank and houses the high-pressure pump in its interior. In other words, the pump is immersed in the gasoline fuel retained in the tank, so that if an air pocket should occur in the fuel supply pipe between the main fuel tank and pump, the air will be discharged from the sub-fuel tank to the exterior through a fuel return pipe etc., thereby ensuring that the pump does not suck in air. Since fuel injectors can therefore inject gasoline fuel immediately, starting performance is enhanced.

  • Patent number: 7156376
Abstract: A carburetor electronic control system includes: transmission devices coupled to valves for opening and closing an intake path of a carburetor; electric motors that make the valves open and close via the transmission devices; and an electronic control unit for controlling the operation of the electric motors. The interior of a casing joined to one side face of the carburetor is divided by a partition plate into a transmission chamber on the carburetor side and a drive chamber on the opposite side. The transmission devices and the electric motors are housed and held in the transmission chamber and the drive chamber, respectively. Therefore, the transmission devices, the electric actuators, and the electronic control unit can be housed in a common casing, thereby reducing the dimensions of the carburetor electronic control system.

  • Patent number: 6188492
Abstract: An image reading apparatus includes a linear sensor unit for reading the side shape of a document on a document platen and outputting the outcome of the reading as an image data and a detector for detecting a binder based on the presence of a space (a protrusion) in the image data inputted by the linear sensor unit. This apparatus infallibly judges that such an object as a binder, which is unnecessary for image reading, is present in the document.

  • Patent number: 6011635
Abstract: In the present invention, a specific region in which the edge of the document is specified as the exterior edge is discriminated for the presence of an image, and images separated from the exterior edge of an area positioned on the interior side of the interior edge of said specific region are discriminated as unnecessary images and erased. Also, in the present invention, images including parts adjacent to the edge of a document within a read image are examined and intersections of the edges and outlines of the images are discriminated, and unnecessary images of user fingers are discriminated from necessary images such as headers and the like and erased. Also, in the present invention, images directly adjacent to the exterior side and interior side of the document edges can be discriminated as unnecessary images by focusing on the hands of a user holding the book document and covering a part of the document at the exterior side, and recognizing similarities in pixel density.

  • Patent number: 5831750
Abstract: An image reading apparatus which reads document surfaces of open book-like documents placed on a document platen in a face upward condition and detects height of the document to control an image reading operation. An image reader reads the document platen on which the document is placed and outputs image data. A height detector detects height distribution of the document, and a discrimination device determines whether or not abnormalities occur in the height distribution of the document. A memory stores the height distribution of the document, and a update device updates the height distribution of the document stored in the memory when the abnormalities do not occur in the height distribution of the document. A correcting device corrects distortion of the image data caused by the height of the document in accordance with the height distribution of the document stored in the memory.

  • Patent number: 5556185
Abstract: An image projecting apparatus for projecting an image recorded in a microfilm incorporated in a cartridge on a screen, for example, is furnished with a loading device which has a container storing a plurality of cartridges detachably attached thereto. The cartridges in the container are sequentially loaded at a prescribed position of a roll film carrier by a loading mechanism of the loading device and subjected to screening of a microfilm for retrieval of a desired image. The cartridge containing the microfilm which had undergone the screening is extracted from the prescribed position and returned to the container by a discharge mechanism. The discharge mechanism returns the cartridge loaded at the prescribed position via a path independent of the path used by the loading mechanism for moving the cartridge.
