  • Publication number: 20050276662
Abstract: A system and method for the accelerated decontamination of contaminated soil, vadose zone and/or groundwater is described. Contaminates are removed from soil and from the groundwater via heat injection through trenching or directionally drilled or horizontally drilled and installed delivery plumbing, pure oxygen injection through separate plumbing installed in the same manner as the plumbing used to deliver the heat, bioventing, sparging, and bioremediation, all through the oxygen delivery plumbing, and soil vapor extraction through vertical wells, all contained in one mobile treatment system. Contaminants are separated from the soil gas via filtration or oxidation. Residual contaminants in the vadose zone and/or the in the groundwater are subjected to volatilization by increased temperature via heat injection and/or oxidation via contaminant degrading microorganisms.

  • Publication number: 20050271192
Abstract: A call schedule is received that includes a plurality of sample calls to be made by an automated calling station. The plurality of sample calls are automatically placed on the network using the automated calling station. At least one final billing record corresponding to the at least one completed sample call is received. The call data is processed to determine billed cost data. The billed cost data is compared to the previous cost data and a change in the rate plan is detected based on the comparison of the billed cost data to the previous cost data.

  • Publication number: 20050021678
Abstract: A remotely controlled uplink server system has a remote access interface that allows multiple user groups to individually control their respective media files. The user groups also have individual control over their respective remote receivers. The control over the media files includes file uploading, file management and file distribution and the control over the remote receivers includes the identification and grouping of receivers, managing the play list, scheduling and storage space on the receivers and selecting media channels. Through the remote access interface into the uplink server system, each one of the user groups operates and controls its own fully functioning network operations center, sharing the uplink facility with the other user groups.

  • Publication number: 20030233543
Abstract: An automated mechanism is provided for generating and distributing appropriate certificates for end entities in a distributed public key infrastructure environment based on trust relationships between the endpoints. Policies between trust zones are specified as an arbitrary graph, referred to as a trust graph. A password is assigned to a trust zone or an individual endpoint by the Certificate Authority. When an endpoint requests a certificate using the appropriate password, the certificate authority uses this graph to generate the appropriate certificates for the endpoint. The distribution of certificates is automated using the Certificate Management Protocol.

  • Patent number: 6581326
Abstract: A device supporting an insecticide container in actuating fashion for engaging an insect nest. The insecticide is provided as a conventional aerosol spray which includes a depressible head. First and second elongated and telescopically attached members define proximal and distal ends. A handle at the proximal end includes an axial extending slot. A button projection from the first elongated member extends through the slot and permits the handle a degree of axial movement. A platform is arranged at the distal end of the elongated members and supports thereupon the insecticide container. A pair of elongated and telescopically attached rods extend between the handle and the platform and, upon actuation of the handle, axially displaces the platform in a direction towards a tab extending in fixed manner from the distal end of the telescopically attached members, engaging against the depressible container head to actuate the spray container.

  • Patent number: 6579485
Abstract: A method of injection molding material around the surface of an object. The method involves positioning the object within the cavity of a first mold and holding the object through the use of a plurality of clamping mechanisms. Material is injection molded about the surface of the object such that the material encompasses the object's surface except for points of contact between the clamping mechanisms and the object. A plurality of protrusions, formed of injection molded material and extending outwardly from the surface of the object, are formed during the injection molding process. Thereafter the object is removed from the first mold cavity and positioned within the cavity of a second mold. The object is secured within the second mold cavity through engagement of the outwardly extending protrusions with the second mold.

  • Publication number: 20030106257
Abstract: A device capable of supporting an insecticide container in selectively actuating fashion for engaging an insect nest. The insecticide container is typically provided as a conventional aerosol insecticide spray which typically includes a depressible head. The device includes first and second elongated and telescopically attached members defining, in combination, a proximal end and a distal end. A handle is located at the proximal end of the telescopically attached members and includes an axial extending slot. A button projection from the first elongated member extends through the slot and permits the handle a limited degree of axial movement relative to the elongated member. A platform is arranged at the distal end of the elongated members and supports thereupon the insecticide container.

  • Patent number: 6557219
Abstract: A swivel hook is described that is comprised of a hook body and a swivel connector. The hook body has a generally uniform thickness and is stamped from a sheet of material. A hook member formed at a first end and a longitudinally oriented stem, having a generally rectangular cross-section, formed at a second opposite end of the hook body. The swivel connector is pivotally securable over the stem and formed from a forged metal. The swivel connector has a generally circular bore of a size exceeding the rectangular cross-section of the stem such that the stem may be received through the bore to secure the swivel connector to the hook body while permitting rotational movement of the swivel connector about the stem. Also described is a method of constructing a swivel hook.

  • Publication number: 20030082713
Abstract: Oligonucleotide building processes are monitored by means of an oligonucleotide probe which in one embodiment is labelled at one end with a chemiluminescent label and at the other end with a quencher molecule. The conformation of the oligonucleotide probe changes according to whether the probe hybridises with a substantially complementary nucleic acid sequence. In the non-hybridised state the chemiluminescent label is sufficiently close proximity to the quencher that the chemiluminescent emission is substantially attenuated, but in the hybridised state the separation is such that there is little or no attenuation. Particular probes and emitter/quencher pairs are disclosed.

  • Publication number: 20030000782
Abstract: The invention is directed to a speed retarding system. The system has a housing with a chamber provided therein. A shaft receiving sleeve extends through the housing and the chamber. A wheel is provided in the chamber and extends from the shaft receiving sleeve to an outer circumferential wall of the housing. The wheel has a plurality of blades provided thereon, the blades extend from the shaft receiving sleeve toward the outer circumferential wall in a generally arcuate configuration. The arcuate configuration of the blades facilitate the pumping action of a liquid which flows through the wheel when the system is in a free moving state and enhances the retardation of movement of the wheel when the system is in a braking state. A ring is provided about an outer circumference of the wheel. The ring is integrally attached to the blades. Whereby as movement of liquid provided in the system is restricted, the relative positioning of blades is maintained by the ring even as heat is accumulated by the system.
