A second stem packing can circumscribe a second portion of the valve stem and be located in the inner cavity of the first packing retainer. A second packing retainer can limit axial movement of the second stem packing. A piston member can be located axially between the first stem packing and the second stem packing, the piston member being moveable to apply axial force to one of the first stem packing and the second stem packing.

Abstract: A livestock feed supplement in which a core particle containing sodium metabisulfite and at least one binder is enrobed with an enteric coating, wherein the thickness and composition of the coating protects the sodium metabisulfite from decomposition to sulfur dioxide in an aqueous acid stomach environment. Also disclosed are a method of delivering sodium metabisulfite to the lower gastrointestinal tract of an animal, and a method of delivering an antidote to relieve the toxic effect of vomitoxin in an animal, by administering to the animal the livestock feed supplement.

Abstract: A locking apparatus for attaching to an end of a valve actuator includes an assembly body, the assembly body releasably securable to a valve actuator. The assembly body has a stem bore for receiving an actuator stem, and a plunger orifice through a sidewall of the assembly body. An immobilizer assembly has a plunger extending through the plunger orifice, and biased radially outward and moveable between a radially inner position where the immobilizer assembly extends over the stem bore, and a radially outer position where an inner end of the immobilizer assembly is radially outward of the stem bore. A segmented housing circumscribes the assembly body and is moveable between a first position where the plunger is in the radially outer position and a second position where the plunger is in the radially inner position. A fusible band selectively retains the segmented housing in engagement with the immobilizer assembly.

Abstract: A radiation detection technique employs field enhancing structures and electroluminescent materials to converts incident Terahertz (THz) radiation into visible light and/or infrared light. In this technique, the field-enhancing structures, such as split ring resonators or micro-slits, enhances the electric field of incoming THz light within a local area, where the electroluminescent material is applied. The enhanced electric field then induces the electroluminescent material to emit visible and/or infrared light via electroluminescent process. A detector such as avalanche photodiode can detect and measure the emitted light. This technique allows cost-effective detection of THz radiation at room temperatures.

Abstract: Disclosed here are methods, systems, paradigms and structures for deleting shared resources from a cache in a multi-threaded system. The shared resources can be used by a plurality of requests belonging to multiple threads executing in the system. When requests, such as requests for executing script code, and work items, such as work items for deleting a shared resource, are created, a global sequence number is assigned to each of them. The sequence number indicates the order in which the requests and work items are created. A particular work item can be executed to delete the shared resource if there are no requests having a sequence number lesser than that of the particular work item executing in the system. However, if there is at least one request with a sequence number lesser than that of the particular work item executing, the work item is ignored until the request completes executing.

The second surrogate key uniquely identifies the respective record. The surrogate key is compared to the second surrogate key to identify a matching record. The matching entity identifier field value is selected and compared to the entity identifier field value of the plurality of records to identify a master record for the surrogate key. The record type field value includes an indicator indicating whether the record is the master record. The de-identified field value included in the identified master record is selected. The received record is supplemented with the selected de-identified field value.

The 2D spectroscopy system includes: a light transmission delayer configured for forming a plurality of first light pulses from first light pulse and causing a relative time delay therebetween; a response pulse wave generator configured for generating a plurality of response pulse waves responds and having a relative time delay, and for irradiating the plurality of response pulse waves on the sample; an optical readout pulse array generator configured for forming an optical readout pulse array by splitting the second light pulse into a plurality of regions having different time delays and spatially discriminated from one another; and a reader configured for reading out by overlapping the optical readout pulse array with a signal generated from the sample.

Abstract: In one embodiment, a method includes accessing a first set of entities, with which a user has interacted, and a second set of entities in a social-networking system. A first set of vector representations of the first set of entities are determined using a deep-learning model. A target entity is selected from the first set of entities, and the vector representation of the target entity is removed from the first set. The remaining vector representations in the first set are combined to determine a vector representation of the user. A second set of vector representations of the second set of entities are determined using the deep-learning model. Similarity scores are computed between the user and each of the target entity and the entities in the second set of entities. Vector representations of entities in the second set of entities are updated based on the similarity scores using the deep-learning model.

Abstract: Scripts are incrementally compiled at runtime to generate executable code. The incremental compilation generates executable code corresponding to a basic block of the script. The executable code for a basic block of script is generated for a set of types of variables of the basic block resulting from execution of the script in response to a request. The generated executable code is stored and executed for subsequent requests if these requests result in the same types of variables for the basic block. The incremental compilation of the script is performed in a lazy fashion, such that executable code is not generated for combinations of types of variables of the script code that are not obtained from requests received at runtime. The script may dynamically generate portions of a web page that is returned in response to a request for execution of the script.

A first seal is disposed proximal to the outer periphery of the orbiting scroll baseplate to provide an external seal between the baseplate and the housing. A second seal is disposed radially inward from the first seal to provide an internal seal between the baseplate and the housing. A space between the internal seal and the external seal defines a balance piston chamber. The balance piston chamber is pressurized via a high or intermediate pressure oil source to reduce thrust loading on the baseplate caused by an axial pressure differential across the baseplate.

The inner cavity has a fluid flow path for hydrocarbon development fluids. A moveable member is located within the inner cavity. A sensor assembly is located within one of the body wall and the moveable member, the sensor assembly being positioned within a port. An indicator feature is on the other of the body wall and the moveable member, the indicator feature sensable by the sensor assembly when the moveable member is in a set position.

Abstract: Technology is provided for partitioning a shared unified cache in a multi-processor computer system. The technology can receive a request to allocate a portion of a shared unified cache memory for storing only executable instructions, partition the cache memory into multiple partitions, and allocate one of the partitions for storing only executable instructions. The technology can further determine the size of the portion of the cache memory to be allocated for storing only executable instructions as a function of the size of the multi-processor's L1 instruction cache and the number of cores in the multi-processor.
