  • Patent number: 8955769
Abstract: Foam dispensers, refill units for foam dispensers, and liquid pumps for use in foam dispensers are disclosed herein. In one embodiment, an inverted foam pump includes a compression chamber having an inlet valve and an outlet valve. The compression chamber is in fluid communication with a flow restrictor, an atomizer, a mixing chamber, a foaming chip and an outlet. The inlet valve, outlet valve, flow restrictor, atomizer, mixing chamber, foaming chip and outlet extend along a common axis. An air inlet is included that extends into the mixing chamber; the air inlet is an opening to atmospheric pressure. During operation, the liquid pump is located below the liquid container and liquid flowing from the compression chamber is accelerated and atomized. • Patent number: 8955087
Abstract: Machine implemented method and system for transferring replicated information from a first storage location managed by a storage operating system at a first storage system node and accessible to a client computing system to a second storage location managed by a second storage system node are provided. A resource pool having a plurality of tokens is maintained for authorizing a replication engine to transfer replicated information from the first storage location to the second storage location. The number of available tokens is increased when traffic due to client requests for accessing the first storage location is less than a first threshold level. The number of available tokens is decreased for reducing transfer of information via the replication engine, when latency in responding to the client requests reaches a second threshold value and the traffic due to client requests reaches the first threshold value.

  • Patent number: 8880326
Abstract: Methods and systems for determining a cyclical pattern of trajectories for a fleet of vehicles are provided. In one example, a method comprises receiving a sequence of coverage requirements for a region and an associated period of time. For each of one or more phases of the period of time, possible routes that a vehicle located at one or more respective landmarks at a beginning of the phase could follow to reach one or more additional landmarks by an end of the phase are determined. Further, a cyclical pattern of trajectories for vehicles of a fleet of vehicles that minimizes a difference between a distribution of the fleet at a beginning of the period of time and a distribution of the fleet at an end of the period of time is determined.

  • Publication number: 20140322096
Abstract: A sanitization station including a fluid source and one or more plasma generators for generating non-thermal plasma is disclosed. One or more nozzles spray a mist or stream of fluid through plasma generated by the one or more plasma generators to activate the fluid. The fluid is then used to sterilize an object. Another sanitization station includes a chamber for holding a fluid and a plasma generator in fluid communication with the chamber for generating plasma. A circulating source moves the fluid in the chamber past plasma generated by the plasma generator to activate the fluid and one or more spray nozzles coat the surface of an object with fluid that is activated by plasma.

  • Patent number: 8874356
Abstract: Example methods and systems for decomposing fleet planning optimizations via spatial partitions are described. An example method includes receiving information indicating a sequence of coverage requirements for a region over a period of time. The region is characterized by a plurality of landmarks and the period of time is divided into a plurality of phases. An individual coverage requirement indicates a desired number of vehicles of a plurality of vehicles for respective landmarks at a given phase. The method also includes dividing the region into a plurality of sub-regions, and determining sub-region fleet plans for the plurality of sub-regions based on estimates of one or more vehicles entering respective sub-regions and estimates of one or more vehicles leaving respective sub-regions. The method also includes combining the sub-region fleet plans to produce a fleet plan responsive to the sequence of coverage requirements for the region.

  • Patent number: 8806995
Abstract: A high precision micro/nanoscale machining system. A multi-axis movement machine provides relative movement along multiple axes between a workpiece and a tool holder. A cutting tool is disposed on a flexible cantilever held by the tool holder, the tool holder being movable to provide at least two of the axes to set the angle and distance of the cutting tool relative to the workpiece. A feedback control system uses measurement of deflection of the cantilever during cutting to maintain a desired cantilever deflection and hence a desired load on the cutting tool.
