Publication number: 20120041238Abstract: Sugars comprising the monosaccharides glucose and fructose, and the disaccharides sucrose and mannose are catalytically converted to ethanol in a sulfate fortified acid medium in the presence of transition metal compounds possessing a degree of symmetry. This is not a fermentation process but is a catalytic chemical process where conversion efficiency is improved by saturating the acidic reaction mixture with inorganic sulfate salts to reduce competitive reactions. Ethanol formed during the reaction is removed by distillation facilitating a continuous process.Type: ApplicationFiled: August 16, 2010Publication date: February 16, 2012Applicant: Carter TechnologiesInventor: Melvin Keith Carter

Patent number: 8073080Abstract: Certain aspects of a method and system for RC-CR quadrature generation with wideband coverage and process compensation may include determining an amplitude mismatch between an in-phase (I) component and a quadrature (Q) component of a signal generated in a radio frequency (RF) transmitter or receiver. A variation in resistance of a quadrature network associated with the I component and Q component may be determined. The determined amplitude mismatch and the determined variation in the resistance of the quadrature network may be compensated by adjusting a resistance of a portion of the quadrature network associated with the I component and a resistance of a portion of the quadrature network associated with the Q component.Type: GrantFiled: December 29, 2006Date of Patent: December 6, 2011Assignee: Broadcom CorporationInventors: Qiang Li, Razieh Roufoogaran, Keith Carter, Arya Behzad

Publication number: 20110185667Abstract: A combination of interlocking primary, top, and bottom interlocking panels (or slats) and slat wall pegs, where the primary panels each have two horizontal spaced-apart slots positioned such that the spacing between slots on a panel and slots across a panel boundary is the same. The interlocking features conceal fasteners that are used proximate the interlock, providing an improved appearance. The top panels attach by spring clips for manual installation and removal. The bottom panels fasten to the wall. Attachment flanges on primary and bottom panels have a groove for fastener alignment. The pegs have resilient arcuate bases with a top flange for engaging a flange channel in the top of a slot and a bottom flange for engaging a floor and back wall of a lower slot. Pegs may be slotted for ease of storage.Type: ApplicationFiled: January 31, 2011Publication date: August 4, 2011Inventor: Gary Keith Carter

Publication number: 20110187247Abstract: Cabinets adapted for non-level garage floors and out-of-plumb garage walls with leveling controls operated from inside each cabinet. The cabinets have in common that they are attachable to a garage wall and each has at least one adjustment panel forming a part of the back of the cabinet. Each adjustment panel has a hand screw for extending behind the cabinet to engage the wall to provide back-to-front leveling and to prevent installation of fasteners, such as screws, from pulling the cabinet closer to the wall during installation. Each adjustment panel also has horizontal slots in a staggered arrangement in two horizontal rows for receiving fasteners. Floor-standing cabinets have feet that are adjustable from inside the cabinet. Wall-hanging cabinets have a top bracket that provides side-to-side leveling form inside. Floor-standing cabinets are modular and stackable, using an included adapter and door-handle coupler to enable stacked cabinet doors to open as one.Type: ApplicationFiled: January 31, 2011Publication date: August 4, 2011Inventor: Gary Keith Carter

Publication number: 20100168377Abstract: Catalytic processes have been developed for direct chemical conversion of amides to methyl ether polymers or methyl ether ladder polymers. Amides formed by reacting acetic acid with monoethanol amine (MEA) or acetic acid with butylamine were polymerized in the presence of transition metal catalysts in air to form linear polymers. Ethanol acetamide was catalytically converted to a linear polyether as characterized by FTIR spectra. The catalysts were based on molecular strings of mono-, di- or tri-valent transition metal compounds that opened the amide carbonyl double bond to produce linear polyethers. Laboratory results have demonstrated [cobalt(II)]2, [manganese(II)]2, cobalt(II)-manganese(II), [nickel(II)]2 and related families of catalysts to be effective for formation of methyl ether polymers by this process.Type: ApplicationFiled: December 29, 2008Publication date: July 1, 2010Applicant: Carter TechnologiesInventor: Melvin Keith Carter
