  • Patent number: 10433871
Abstract: An intraosseous device includes a stylet with a pointed end for penetrating bone and a cannula through which the stylet extends. The stylet has a bent portion which is engaged in a receiver in a handle cover. The cannula has an outwardly extending flare which is engaged in a corresponding seat in a hub. The handle and the hub have formations which interlock with one another when the tip of the stylet is aligned with the tip of the cannula. The interlock formations further assist torque transmission. The configuration ensures that the maximum manual torque can be applied to penetrate bone while ensuring that the stylet and cannula are aligned for maximum cutting efficiency and remain fixed to the handle and the hub respectively.

  • Patent number: 10313306
Abstract: An apparatus receives an upper layer packet that includes data from a source device, a virtual private network (VPN) identification, a destination address, and a destination option type. The apparatus authenticates the upper layer packet by comparing the VPN identification of the received upper layer packet to a customer VPN identification. The apparatus determines whether the apparatus recognizes the destination option type of the upper layer packet. The apparatus discards the upper layer packet on a condition that the apparatus does not recognize the destination option type. The apparatus decapsulates the upper layer packet into a lower layer packet and transmits the decapsulated packet to a destination on a condition that the apparatus recognizes the destination option type.

  • Patent number: 10007981
Abstract: A system for imaging and analyzing a vehicle may include a frame having a central passage, wherein the central passage is configured and dimensioned to allow a vehicle to pass through. The frame may include, for example, a pair of substantially vertical legs connected at the top by a cross member, wherein the legs and cross member define the central passage. One or more bollards may be positioned in front of and/or behind the frame. A plurality of cameras within the each leg, cross member, and/or bollard may be directed toward the passage to record video images of a passing vehicle. Integrated LED array panels may provide bands of light to aid in detection of surface anomalies, for example by simultaneous analysis of symmetrical sides of the vehicle.

  • Patent number: 9931236
Abstract: A physiotherapeutic device has a waist tensioning system and a spine support system that enable correction and/or maintaining postural stance for individuals suffering from poor posture and/or neurodegenerative disease. The device provides a posture support and retention system during episodes of postural instability to enable individuals to maintain posture and balance while performing functions. The device includes a garment with shoulder straps extending from the tensioning system to generate force vectors in a direction opposite of those generated by traditional shoulder straps. A rigid support member is disposed in the garment to run parallel with the spinal column. The shoulder straps and waist straps tie into an anchor located on a portion of the garment directly over the support member. The connected components work in concert to actively and passively adjust tension and apply pressure to straighten shoulders and improve the upper back support.

  • Publication number: 20180071730
Abstract: Some configurations of a microfluidic apparatus can comprise a fluidic circuit of interconnected fluidic structures into which a plurality of different media can be introduced or extracted. A variety of operations can be performed with the different media including isolating with a second medium one or more of the fluidic structures that is filled partially or fully with a first medium. Discrete volumes of a medium can be moved through the isolating second medium to deliver materials or micro-objects to or remove micro-objects or materials from a fluidic structure that is otherwise isolated by the second medium. Some configurations of a microfluidic apparatuses can isolate microfluidic structures in a microfluidic apparatus using flow rates or blocking structures, and some configurations can manage bubbles in fluidic structures.
