  • Publication number: 20240085620
Abstract: An apparatus includes a finite impulse response demodulator. The finite impulse response demodulator includes least one stage. Each stage includes a cascaded pair of interferometers. The cascaded pair of interferometers includes a first interferometer and a second interferometer. Optionally, the first interferometer includes a first delay. The second interferometer includes a second delay. The first delay and the second delay are fixed or variable. Optionally, the first delay is unequal or equal to said second delay. Optionally, the first interferometer includes first internal power monitors, and the second interferometer includes second internal power monitors. The first power monitors monitor phase bias conditions within the first interferometer. The second power monitors monitor phase bias conditions within the second interferometer. Optionally, the first interferometer includes a first adjustable coupler, and the second interferometer comprises a second adjustable coupler.

  • Patent number: 6073760
Abstract: A corrugated fibreboard container is provided for packaging a stack of loose paper sheets which comprises a carton and a lid, both formed from two planar blanks. The carton is formed with four sides which define inner dimensions substantially coincident with the dimensions of the paper sheets to be stored therein, with one side being hingedly connected to the bottom of the carton which allows for rotation thereof and access to the stack of loose paper sheets from a point adjacent the hinged side. The container limits the exposure of moisture to the paper sheets stored therein with a moisture resistant coating being disposed on the inner surfaces thereof, special slots, and an adhesive tape being provided for ensuring a tight securement between the lid and the carton. In an alternative embodiment, the lid may be hingedly connected to the carton.

  • Patent number: 4716583
Abstract: A telephonic data communications system provides verbal communication of data in remote computer systems. The major components of the systems are a plurality of channels and a data processor. Each channel includes a text-to-speech translator for translating digitally stored textual data into analogue speech signals corresponding to the verbal expression of the textual data; a telephone interface for establishing a telephonic connection with a user by detecting incoming calls and by initiating calls; and an RS232 port for accessing a data base in a remote host computer system. The data processor includes software for controlling the communications protocols used by each channel, whereby each channel emulates a computer terminal suitable for communication with the remote computer system connected to that channel, and software for extracting selected data from the data received from the remote computer system.
