  • Patent number: 5845881
Abstract: A railroad trackwork intersection assembly such as a crossing intersection or a turnout intersection is provided with at least one flange-bearing frog subassembly which has railcar wheel flangeways of uniform depth throughout the frog planform that co-operate with trackwork traffic rails, with easer subassemblies that are positioned exterior to but abut the frog subassembly, that have sloping flange support surfaces, and that may be removed from or adjusted in the assembly without moving or adjusting either the frog subassembly or the co-operating trackwork traffic rails.

  • Patent number: 5598993
Abstract: A railroad trackwork frog assembly is provided with a pair of wing rail components, with a centrally positioned body component comprising an integrally formed V-shaped point element having a pair of gauge lines, an integrally formed pair of wing elements having a pair of guard lines, and integrally formed flangeways separating said point element from said pair of wing elements, and with fasteners joining the body component wing elements to the wing rail components in a manner whereby the point element gauge lines are truly parallel to the wing element guard lines and are uniformly separated from said wing element guard lines uniformly by a distance of approximately 13/4-inches.
    Type: Grant

Date of Patent: February 4, 1997
    Assignee: ABC Rail Products Corporation
Inventors: Stephen R. Kuhn, Keith Young
  • Patent number: 5595361
Abstract: A railroad trackwork spring frog installation having a conventional wing rail with attached wing rail horn fitting is provided with an improved co-operating hold-down comprising a weld block element component, a separate, readily replaceable, riser component supported by the weld block component, a housing component positioned over the wing rail horn fitting and supported by the weld block component, and bolt-type fastener devices joining the hold-down components into a unitary structure.
    Type: Grant

    Assignee: ABC Rail Products Corporation
Inventors: James A. Remington, Keith Young, Stephen R. Kuhn
  • Patent number: 5544848
Abstract: An improved railroad trackwork frog is provided with a relatively fixed rigid wing rail, a relatively movable spring wing rail, a base plate, and at least one roller outrigger and ramp plate assembly which is attached to the spring wing rail and to the base plate, and which functions to cause limited upwards vertical movement of the spring wing rail relative to the base plate when the spring wing rail is moved laterally relative to the rigid wing rail by the engaged wheel flange of a passing rail car.

  • Patent number: 5238186
Abstract: A hook for a guard rail assembly has a vertical and a horizontal leg at one end adapted to engage a guard rail and a fastener receptacle at the other end adapted to receive a resilient fastener.
    Type: Grant

    Assignee: ABC Rail Corporation
Inventors: Keith Young, James A. Remington
  • Patent number: 5236125
Abstract: A support block for a guard rail assembly has a vertical wall with non parallel front and rear surfaces. A pair of spaced legs project laterally from the front surface of the vertical wall. One of the legs has inner and outer side walls which are joined by an outer end wall. The inner and outer side walls extend different distances from the front surface such that the outer end wall tapers and is non parallel to the front surface.

  • Patent number: 5176318
Abstract: A guard rail assembly for mounting a guard bar has a support bracket for mounting the guard bar, a support block and a hook for engaging the guard bar. An elastic fastener engages the support block and the hook and draws the hook and bar towards the support bracket to lock the guard bar on the support bracket.

  • Patent number: 4908029
Abstract: The flexible needle stop includes a normally unfolded needle impenetrable needle barrier formed of a flexible foldable material. The flexible foldable material can be a single layer sheet material, a wire mesh material and/or one or more layers of scale-like components arranged side by side. The scale-like components are physically unconnected and of a size that permits flexion of the needle stop that incorporates the scale-like components. The flexible needle stop member can include a bead-like periphery which affords the needle stop member with a resilient memory and helps restore the needle stop member to its normally unfolded condition after a folding restraint is removed. The needle stop can be freely disposed within a fill chamber of a tissue expander, attached to an inner surface of the fill chamber or incorporated in the shell wall of a tissue expander.
