  • Publication number: 20100171340
Abstract: An automobile vehicle compartment includes an octagonal frame having side sills that extend in the vehicle body fore-and-aft direction, a dashboard lower cross member and middle cross member that extend in the vehicle width direction, and four inclined members, and it is therefore possible to ensure that there is sufficient rigidity both for a collision load from the vehicle body fore-and-aft direction and from the side of the vehicle body, thereby minimizing deformation of the vehicle compartment. Furthermore, since front side frames and a front bumper beam form a U-shaped frame that curves in a U-shape toward the vehicle body fore-and-aft direction in front of the vehicle compartment, it is possible by crushing of the high rigidity U-shaped frame to absorb effectively a collision load from the vehicle body fore-and-aft direction, including an offset collision, thereby preventing more effectively deformation of the vehicle compartment.

  • Patent number: 7380830
Abstract: A vehicle front body structure includes a hollow front side frame of closed cross-sectional structure having a wheel relief portion having a horizontal width reducing to allow swivel movement of a front wheel of the vehicle. The wheel relief portion has a pair of reinforcement beads extending in a longitudinal direction of the vehicle and projecting from an outer sidewall and an inner sidewall, respectively, of the front side frame into an internal space of the hollow front side frame. The reinforcement beads have top surfaces being in abutment with each other and firmly fixed together.

  • Patent number: 7296824
Abstract: A vehicle front body structure includes an upper member extending from the lower end of a front pillar in a forward direction of a vehicle body and disposed outward a front side frame in a transverse direction of the vehicle body. The upper member has a substantially rectilinear configuration and is arranged to slope upward in a rearward direction of the vehicle body so that a load applied to a front end portion of the upper member can be born by the front pillar.
