  • Publication number: 20140370993
Abstract: An improved display provides information regarding a projectile trajectory so that a user is informed whether or not there is a clear shot. The improved display provides trajectory path indicator shown over cross hairs. In some embodiments, an intermediate point in the projectile trajectory is an aiming point and is indicated in relation to the visualized target. A rangefinder device is calibrated to a weapon having a sight, such as a bow sight. The aiming point is displayed showing the intermediate point in the projectile trajectory that corresponds with a pin in the bow sight. The rangefinder device may be calibrated using a calibration sheet. The display may include a level. The trajectory path indicator shows the aiming point, which is the highest point in the projectile trajectory as perceived by the user.

  • Patent number: 8789550
Abstract: An easy to use, reliable, easy to repair, universal, simple, lightweight, compact, portable, multi-use modular system of poles and interconnections. An operator configures a number of structures using brackets, supports, segmented shafts, and interconnection components. The segmented shafts have both the ability to make an attachment to retain a particular configuration while being able to break down the shafts for transportation or storage. Some embodiments include a sleeve that protects the tip of a pole and provide a cushion and separation between a pole and a ferrule thereby reducing breakage and increase reliability. Broken components are easily replaced in the field. The configuration of the structure is changed by the user to quickly adapt to changing needs. Multiple components can be carried by separate members of a group and combined together to form a more complex structure to meet the needs of the group.

  • Publication number: 20140113772
Abstract: A leg strap with preferably horizontal handles attached at each end of each handle is used to aid in lifting a jumping player, especially for lineouts in Rugby Union. The handles are preferably made of elastic bands with contract to provide a tight fit on the leg of the jumper and when jumping allow for secure grasp by lifters. The simple, reusable, easy to use leg straps provide a level of effectiveness, comfort, convenience, and safety not provided by conventional methods. To use, leg straps are applied to one or more legs of a jumper. When the jumper jumps, one or more lifters grip the leg device. The lifters lift the jumper higher, support the jumper in the jump while the jumper attempts to intercept a ball, and safely lower the jumper.

  • Patent number: 8537898
Abstract: Methods, medium, and machines which compress, enhance, encode, transmit, decode, decompress and display digital video images. Real time compression is achieved by sub-sampling each frame of a video signal, filtering the pixel values, and encoding. Real time transmission is achieved due to high levels of effective compression. Real time decompression is achieved by decoding and decompressing the encoded data to display high quality images. A receiver can alter various setting including, but not limited to, the format for the compression, image size, frame rate, brightness and contrast. In a Doppler improvement aspect of the invention, Doppler velocity scales are incorporated into grayscale compression methods using two bits. Variable formats may be selected and Doppler encoding can be turned on and off based on the image content. Frames or sets of pixels may be distinguished by automated analysis of the characteristics of an image, such as the presence of Doppler enhanced pixels.

  • Patent number: 8500563
Abstract: A system for indicating to a user a clear shot along a projectile trajectory to a target wherein one of the trajectory path indicators indicates a height of the projectile trajectory at a predetermined intermediate range to the target whereby the user is informed regarding whether or not an obstacle is in the projectile trajectory. The system facilitates accurate, effective, and safe firearm and bow use by providing indications regarding obstacles that are between the shooter and target and which may or may not be in the projectile trajectory. The system may indicate a calibrated aiming point, which is the maximum height of the projectile trajectory. Enhanced rangefinders have digital cameras and high-resolution displays. Some embodiments include a weapon scope, a simulation game device, and a mobile smart phone. A method of using the system.
