  • Publication number: 20070216750
Abstract: In the light amount correction in the main scanning direction, sets of correction values of black and cyan for which the reflection frequency of optical elements are equal to an even number of times are made common to each other (a correction value set—KC), and sets of correction values of magenta and yellow for which the reflection frequency of optical elements are equal to an odd number of times are made common to each other (a correction value set—MY), whereby sets of correction values stored in a correction value storage portion in a correction value setting portion are reduced to two sets. Furthermore, in connection with this, the number of DA converters is reduced to two DA converters of a DA converter—K, C and a DA converter—M, Y.

  • Patent number: 7187397
Abstract: A light beam position detecting device detects the passage positions of a plurality of light beams for scanning the surface of a photosensitive drum. The light beam position detecting device has a sensor pattern for generating an output which is continuously changed in a wide range with a variation in the passage position of the light beam in a sub-scanning direction perpendicular to a main scanning direction of the light beam. The sensor pattern precisely detects the relative scanning position of the light beam in a wide range. The passage positions of the plurality of light beams for scanning the surface of the photosensitive drum are controlled to a preset position based on the output of the sensor pattern.

  • Publication number: 20060227207
Abstract: An image forming apparatus comprises a light generator (e.g., laser) generating a scanning light beam and a driver driving the light generator depending on a drive signal to be provided. In this apparatus, data formed of image information at each pixel of each line along a main scan direction of an image to be targeted are distributed into a plurality of strings (i.e., channels) of data (e.g., two strings). Concerning each pixel provided by data in each string, information indicative of both a start and an end of modulation (e.g., PWM) is then produced. By using the start and end information, a modulator performs modulation depending on the data of each pixel in each string, providing a modulated signal. The modulated signals from the plural strings are mutually synthesized at synchronizes timings, being provided as the drive signal and given to the driver.

  • Publication number: 20060203263
Abstract: A beam light scanning apparatus capable of reducing influences of variations in characteristics of circuits disposed in a signal path extending until a laser driver and speeding up image data transfer for scan and exposure. Data of each line is distributed by an image data I/F into data trains of two channels, i.e., an odd-numbered pixel train and an even-numbered pixel train. The data in the two-channel trains are written by writing units into a plurality of memories in parallel for each of the trains in response to a line sync signal. During the same processing cycle as that for the writing, the data are read out of the memories in parallel by reading units. The data of two channels are combined by a multiplexer into a data train in the original order of pixels in each line, and a driving signal based on the combined data is generated by a PWM. A laser is driven by the driving signal.
