  • Publication number: 20020044293
Abstract: A CPU of a color printer performs gamma correction and a matrix operation M on an RGB color space image data derived by a matrix operation S. Using gamma correction value settings, the CPU performs gamma conversion of image data. Matrix operation M converts the RGB color space to an XYZ color space. When performing matrix operation M, the CPU refers to a PrintMatching tag and performs the matrix operation using a matrix (M) that corresponds to the indicated color space, in order to reflect the color space used for generation of image data.

  • Publication number: 20020027603
Abstract: An apparatus, method, signal and computer program product are configured to provide an output image adjustment for image files. A CPU of a color printer performs gamma correction and a matrix operation M on RGB color space image data derived from a matrix S operation. The CPU performs gamma conversion on image data using established gamma values. Matrix operation M converts the RGB color space to the XYZ color space. When executing matrix operation M, the CPU refers to a color space tag, contained in an image file produced at an image generating device, so as to preserve the color space used during synthesis of the image data, and performs the matrix operation using a matrix (M) corresponding to color space written in the file.

  • Patent number: 6243174
Abstract: In order to prevent an operational amount of color conversion from increasing when resolution is changed since the operational amount of color conversion is increased when the conversion is performed such that resolution is enhanced in printing, resolution of color image data constituting pre conversion data is compared with resolution of color image data constituting post conversion data. As a result of comparison, when the resolution on the input side is lower, color conversion is previously performed and resolution is converted subsequently, when the resolution on the input side is higher, resolution is converted prior to color conversion. Thus where conversion of resolution and color conversion are executed, color conversion is performed on the side having a lower one of the resolutions whereby color conversion is performed in respect of fewer pixels and the processing can be optimized.
