  • Publication number: 20150163434
Abstract: An image sensor control device includes an image sensor including focus detecting pixels; an object brightness detecting unit that detects brightness of an object; a mode determining unit that determines a first readout mode or a second readout mode based on the detected brightness of the object; a read-out unit that reads out the focus detecting pixels in the determined readout mode; and a focus detecting unit that performs focus detection by using focus detection data read out from the focus detecting pixels. In an implementation, in the first readout mode, the read-out unit reads out the focus detecting pixels in a first interval, and, in the second readout mode, the read-out unit reads out the focus detecting pixels in a second interval, which is longer than the first interval.

  • Patent number: 8865472
Abstract: An analyzing device mixes a sample liquid with a reagent by rotation of the analyzing device about a rotation center to generate a centrifugal force. A measurement cell is formed so as to extend in a direction along which the centrifugal force is applied, and a capillary area to which the sample liquid is sucked by a capillary force is formed on one of the side walls of the measurement cell, the side walls being arranged in a rotational direction. The capillary area extends from the outer periphery position to the inner periphery of the measurement cell, thereby reducing the size of the analyzing device. Further, the sample liquid in the measurement cell is sucked to the capillary area by slowing or stopping a rotation, and then the rotation is accelerated to return the sample liquid in the capillary area to the measurement cell.

  • Patent number: 8600226
Abstract: Focusing methods, apparatus, and computer-readable recording media having recorded thereon the focusing methods are disclosed. In an example focusing method, a focus evaluation value is divided into first information and second information. The first information represents a difference between focus evaluation values, which are obtained according to location of a focus lens, to be relatively large, and the second information represents the difference to be relatively small. Then, at least one from among the first information and the second information is provided to a user so that the user may easily and more accurately determine whether a subject is in focus.

  • Patent number: 8596150
Abstract: An inlet (37a) of a capillary tube channel that feeds a liquid from a mixing cavity (39) to measurement spots is formed near one (4) of the wall surfaces of the upper and lower surfaces of the mixing cavity (39) situated in a direction of oscillation for mixing. On the other wall surface (3), a level difference (39a) is formed such that an inner gap is larger than an outer gap in the mixing cavity (39), so that a solution is reliably fed from the mixing cavity to the measurement cells.
