    Abstract: An optical subscriber line terminal unit and a state transition control method are provided which are capable of stabilizing operation. State information storing means, which is a nonvolatile memory, stores state information about the unit. Startup preparatory state shifting means causes a shift to a startup preparatory state at startup. Flag setting means sets an emergency stop state flag during the period of the startup preparatory state if it is judged based on the state information that a state before the startup is an emergency stop state. State transition control means causes a shift from the startup preparatory state to the emergency stop state if the emergency stop state flag is set, and causes a shift from the startup preparatory state to an initial state if the emergency stop state flag is not set.

    Abstract: A delay adjustment unit and optical network unit which efficiently adjust the delay time of upstream data to improve the quality of data transmission services. Upstream transmission data is segmented into small data blocks. A downstream receiver receives control information on which upstream data blocks are granted or not granted to the unit. It also received an equalization delay update request that commands the unit to update its current equalization delay parameter. When this equalization delay update request is received, a delay adjustment controller controls the delay of each data block, depending on whether the transmission of each subsequent data block is granted. An upstream transmitter then transmits the granted data blocks with the adjusted delay times.

    Abstract: A mounting structure for a tubular member is disclosed. At least a claw (11) making up a protrusion is formed on the outer surface of a drain hose (1) making up a tubular member. At least an annular depressed portion (22) is formed on the inner surface of a holding hole (21) of a grommet (2) making up a holding member. The claw (11) and the depressed portion (22) are fitted with each other, so that the drain hose (1) is securely held in a manner such that it cannot come off from the grommet (2) supported by a body panel (3). The outer surface of the drain hose (1) is formed with a mark (12) providing an indication of the amount of insertion.

    Abstract: Disclosed is a monitoring device for a machine tool, which monitors operations in work machining to increase the precision level of the yield of the work. To monitor a load current supplied to a machining motor in 1-cycle units which run from the start of the machining to the end of the machining, sampling points are taken at shorter intervals along the time axis of the machining in areas where the machining is complex, and in areas where the machining is simple sampling points are taken at longer intervals along the time axis of the machining; and at each sampling point the sampling data are stored and undergo numerical processing. Then, the actually measured value of the load current is compared to determine whether or not the actually measured value is within a range of an upper and a lower limit which are determined by a standard deviation value calculated from the sampling data at each sampling point, to thereby monitor the machining process.

One of the plurality of fixed-length cell transmitting apparatuses is configured as a highest-priority fixed-length cell transmitting apparatus. Further, the highest-priority fixed-length cell transmitting apparatus comprises a fixed-length cell storage section and a fixed-length cell read control section. The fixed-length cell multiplexing apparatus comprises a plurality of FIFO storage sections, an FIFO control section, and a multiplexing section. With this structure, information to be notified is divided into fixed-length cells for transmission.

The terminals are connected via an asynchronous transfer mode (ATM) network in which frame structure data is transmitted in a form of an ATM cell. The terminals include at least a first terminal and a second terminal. The first terminal is adapted to handle data having a super frame (SF) format. The second terminal is adapted to handle data having an extended super frame (ESF) format. A type of frame format of frame structure data to be sent to one of the terminals is distinguished by detecting a synchronization pattern of the frame structure data. The frame structure data is converted when the frame structure data is sent to the one of the terminals so that the converted frame structure data has a type of frame format corresponding to the detected synchronization pattern.
