  • Publication number: 20020167265
Abstract: A gap formed between cathode wires 2 (electron emitting sources 2a) and control electrodes 4 is made uniform and a gap formed between a rear panel 100 and a face panel 200 is held at a predetermined value with high accuracy. Plate-like members are used as the control electrodes 4. Holes 4a which allow electrons emitted from the electron emitting sources 2a provided to the cathode wires 2 to pass through the control electrodes 4 toward the face panel 200 side are formed in pixel regions which are defined by the cathode wires 2 and the control electrodes 4 crossing the cathode wires 2 both of which are formed on the rear panel 100. Contact portions 10 which are projected toward the rear panel 100 side and support the control electrodes 4 are provided between the neighboring cathode wires 2. Further, gap holding members 9 which hold the gap between the face panel 200 and the rear panel 100 at the predetermined value are provided right above the contact portions 10 and at the face panel 200 side.

  • Publication number: 20020151823
Abstract: In a wire-stranded hollow tube 1, a plurality of metallic wires (8) preformed with a predetermined forming rate are twisted along a circular line into a coreless hollow configuration When twisting the metallic wires (8), the neighboring metallic elements (1a, 1a) are subjected to compression with no gap appeared between the neighboring metallic elements (1a, 1a). This increases a contact pressure between the neighboring metallic elements (1a, 1a) to attain a good tightness with a good circularity and diametrical uniformity secured therebetween, thus preventing the wire-stranded hollow tube 1 from inadvertently collapsing. A tightness is strengthened between the neighboring metallic elements (1a, 1a) when the metallic elements (1a, 1a) of different helical pitch are used. By applying the wire-stranded hollow tube 1 to a medical guide wire, a quick torque response and a good torque transmissibility are ensured which leads to a good manipulatability with a favorable follow-on capability.

  • Patent number: 5001437
Abstract: An electron storage ring has bending magnets, quadrupole magnets, and sextupole magnets arranged in a ring for constraining a beam of electrons along a path. When the beam is injected, a control means controls a power source for the magnet so that the beam has a high equilibrium emittance. This gives the beam a large dynamic aperture, simplifying beam injection. Once the beam has been injected, the field strengths of the magnets are varied to cause a reduction in the emittance to a low value, at which the beam is stored. Synchrotron radiation is generated which has a high brightness because the low emittance means the beam has a small diameter. During the reduction in equilibrium emittance, the betatron oscillation frequency is maintained on a stable operation region and the chromaticity is maintained substantially zero.

  • Patent number: 4992745
Abstract: When accelerating charged particles on synchrotron acceleration basis by using a circular accelerator having a RF acceleration cavity, the detuned amount representative of an offset between oscillation frequency of a RF oscillator for the RF acceleration cavity and resoance frequency of the RF acceleration cavity and the RF power for supplying the charged particles with energy are controlled in compliance with changes in energy of the charged particles without changing the oscillation frequency. A great number of charged particles injected into the circular accelerator can be accelerated to the ultimate storage energy during the acceleration on synchrotron acceleration basis without causing charged particle beam loss.
