    Abstract: A shift device includes a shift switch configured to be operated in a first direction to switch to a certain shift position and a switch detector that detects movement of the shift switch in the first direction. The shift device also includes a release switch that is located at a position differing from that of the shift switch and configured to be moved between a restriction position that restricts operation of the shift switch in the first direction and a release position that allows operation of the shift switch in the first direction. The shift device shifts a shift range of a transmission to a gear mode corresponding to the shift switch when the switch detector detects the movement of the shift switch in the first direction.

    Abstract: A shift lever device is provided with retention frames at a front side and rear side of a lever, and a plate is provided with blocks at the front side and rear side of the lever. Even if the plate and the lever are installed to a vehicle with the front side and rear side of the plate and the lever reversed, changing the retention frame that retains a detent rod enables the block on the side of the detent rod to restrict swinging of the detent rod, enabling swinging of the lever to be restricted. This thereby enables the plate and the lever to be commonly employed.

Furthermore, the lock pawl is arranged at a side of a tension acting direction from the pull member to the following pulley except the farthest position from the driving pulley among positions in a circumferential direction of the pulley axis. It is possible to attach and detach the following pulley easily at a time of maintenance or the like.

    Abstract: In a shift lever device, when a lever is rotate-operated to an “R” position or a “D” position, a cushion of the lever abuts a stopper inside the housing, and the rotating operation of the lever is stopped. Note that when the lever is rotate-operated to the “R” position or the “D” position under a heavy load, a low rigidity plate and a low rigidity tube of the cushion undergo elastic deformation, and the high rigidity column of the cushion is sandwiched between the lever and the stopper. The rotating operation of the lever is thereby restricted. The high rigidity column is thereby able to effectively restrict the rotating operation of the lever.
