  • Patent number: 7457065
Abstract: The data possessed by a parent hard disk drive is exported to a baby hard disk drive, which is connected to the parent hard disk drive, and thus, the baby hard disk drive executes by itself an optimization/inspection process including writing of servo information. A hard disk drive is reproduced by incorporating “DNA” used for reproduction into each hard disk drive, and then, by performing self-optimization and/or self-inspection by a new hard disk drive (baby hard disk drive), according to information supplied by a finished hard disk drive (parent hard disk drive).

  • Publication number: 20080216075
Abstract: An apparatus for supporting creation of a program includes: a program execution module (25) which reads a program (60) including a random output block (64) from a storage device (30), executes a program with a test input value, and obtains an execution result of the program; a model execution module (22) which reads a model (40) including a random output model block (44) from the storage device (30), executes the model on the test input value using a model execution tool, and obtains an execution result of the model; and a cross-checking module (28) which compares the execution result obtained by the program execution module (25) and the execution result obtained by the model execution module (22). The model execution module (22) obtains an output value of the random output block which is outputted as a result of execution of the program, and uses the output value of the random output block (64) as an output value of the random output model block (44) in the model.

  • Publication number: 20080192581
Abstract: To provide an analog radio-controlled timepiece in which it is possible to set a displayed date by a date indicator to a correct date. A reception circuit 115 receives and outputs a time code included in a standard radio signal through an antenna 114, and a control circuit 103 corrects a time instant being clocked to a time instant corresponding to the time code and corrects a clocked time instant of a 24-hour counter 116 to the last-mentioned time instant. Even in a case where the standard radio signal cannot be received, the control circuit 103 drive-controls a motor 105 so as to alter a displayed date of a date indicator 107 to a next day in a case where the 24-hour counter clocked 24 hours. The motor 105 rotation-drives the date indicator 107 for one day through the train wheel 106, thereby altering the displayed date to the next day.

  • Publication number: 20080186809
Abstract: It is made possible to display a time instant and a reception sensitivity even during a standard radio signal is received, without adding a special constitution as much as possible. A reception circuit receives and outputs a time code included in the standard radio signal, through an antenna, and a control circuit corrects a time instant being clocked to a time instant corresponding to the time code. In a case where the reception sensitivity of the standard radio signal is displayed, the control circuit judges the reception sensitivity of the standard radio signal on the basis of the time code from the reception circuit, and controls such that, by rotation-controlling a date indicator by referring to a reception sensitivity versus date indicator position correspondence table, the reception sensitivity is displayed by date letters of the date indicator and a time instant display is performed by time instant hands.

  • Publication number: 20080117720
Abstract: To make a setting as to whether or not a time code is automatically received simple, and suppress a wasteful use of an electric power by a reception operation under an environment incapable of suitably receiving the time code. A reception circuit receives and outputs the time code through an antenna, and a control circuit corrects a time instant which is being clocked to a time instant corresponding to the time code. If a crown is operated to a time instant correction position, an input circuit outputs an operation signal denoting this. The control circuit responds to the operation signal to thereby control a reception operation of the reception circuit to OFF. At this time, a time instant correction is performed by hand by operating the crown.

  • Publication number: 20080089183
Abstract: No counter circuit is used but a simple arrangement is used to allow a motor to be rotation driven by main drive pulses in accordance with a load. A control circuit (103), after starting to use second main drive pulses to drive a motor (105), continues the rotation driving of the motor (105) by use of the second main drive pulses if a rotation detecting circuit (110) detects a rotation detection signal indicative of the rotation of the motor (105) after a passage of a predetermined reference time period. However, the control circuit (103) uses first main drive pulses, which are shorter in pulse width than the second main drive pulses, instead of using the second main drive pulses, to perform the rotation driving of the motor (105) if the rotation detection signal is detected before the passage of the reference time period.

  • Patent number: 7283428
Abstract: To make it possible by a simple constitution to perform a forcible rotation drive by a correction drive pulse and obtain a demagnetization effect. In a case where a control circuit has judged on the basis of a detection signal from a rotation detection circuit 106 that a motor has not rotated by a drive by a 1st normal drive pulse of a predetermined energy, after it has forcibly rotation-driven the motor by a correction drive pulse whose energy is larger than the 1st normal drive pulse, it rotation-drives the motor by a 2nd normal drive pulse whose polarity differs from the correction drive pulse and whose energy is larger than the 1st normal drive pulse.

  • Publication number: 20070189125
Abstract: To be able to promote oscillation start characteristic while having a simple constitution and maintaining low power consumption. In starting to oscillate an oscillation circuit, a capacitor for protecting from leakage is shortcircuited by bringing a switch of an oscillation stabilizing circuit 11 into a closed state and a constant voltage circuit starts to oscillate the oscillation circuit by supplying a drive voltage of a power source voltage to the oscillation circuit. After an elapse of a predetermined time period, oscillation is prevented from being stopped by leakage by inserting the capacitor into the oscillation circuit loop by bringing the switch into an open state, and an oscillation operation is continued by supplying a voltage lower than the power source voltage to the oscillation circuit by intermittently driving the constant voltage circuit.

  • Patent number: 7242551
Abstract: Embodiments of the invention provide techniques to inspect the track pitch of a magnetic disk. In one embodiment, the track pitch is inspected using the servo information that was written onto the magnetic disk. A PES gain is set to be PG0. A head is moved to a position K near the position where control is to switch between MPES and SPES, and then MPES and SPES are calculated using reproduced burst signals and PG0. The quantity of change in the inspection HSP which is a half-servo pitch of an inspection-related burst pattern, with respect to an ideal half-servo pitch, is detected by calculating PES?, the difference between the MPES and SPES at position K. The track pitch is thus judged whether it is abnormal.
