  • Publication number: 20120254865
Abstract: When executing firmware of a first hypervisor stored in a first memory area, an information processing device stores firmware of a second hypervisor into a second memory area. The information processing device issues, from the first hypervisor, a stopping instruction that instructs a caller of a hypervisor call to stop issuing a new hypervisor call. Herein, let designating information be information that designates a memory area storing firmware of a hypervisor executed by the information processing device. The information processing device rewrites the designating information from a first value that designates the first memory area to a second value that designates the second memory area. The information processing device starts execution of the firmware of the second hypervisor in response to the rewriting of the designating information. The information processing device issues, from the second hypervisor to the caller, a canceling instruction that cancels the stopping instruction.

  • Publication number: 20120233487
Abstract: In an information processing apparatus, a control unit includes a first clock device for providing the time of day. A physical domain includes a second clock device, and implements a logical domain that functions as a virtual information processing apparatus. The control unit controls a first time-of-day difference between the time of day of the first clock device and that of the second clock device. The physical domain controls a second time-of-day difference between the time of day of the second clock device and that of the logical domain. In the information processing apparatus, the time of day on the logical domain is controlled based on the first and second time-of-day differences.

  • Patent number: 4637092
Abstract: In a vacuum cleaner of the type arranged to stop a motor when a driven brush is overloaded due to engagement with carpet or other obstacles, a starter circuit responsive to a manually operable power switch is employed to start the motor. The rotation of the rotary brush is detected by way of a sensor which produces a voltage. The starter circuit produces another voltage for a given period of time after the power switch is turned on, and these voltages are fed to a latching circuit which produces a control voltage when neither of the first nor second voltage is applied thereto, and the control voltage causes a control unit to interrupt power to the electric motor. As a result, once the latching circuit is put in a latching state after the brush has stopped, the motor is prevented from starting again unless the power switch is turned on again.
