  • Publication number: 20090008635
Abstract: A sensor whose size can be decreased without marring the performance and which can be installed in a narrow place, an electric device, and a method for easily manufacturing the electric device. By vacuum deposition of semiconductor on a columnar body or by applying a melt, solution, or gel of semiconductor to the columnar body, a coating of semiconductor is formed. Four insulating wires, a stripe band of the connected four insulating wires are wound around the columnar body. Then, one of the insulating wires is removed to form a copper wire in the vacant portion by copper vacuum deposition. Lastly, another insulating wire not adjacent to the copper wire is removed to form an aluminum wire in the vacant portion by aluminum vacuum deposition. By measuring the resistance between the copper and aluminum wires, the intensity of light striking the semiconductor can be determined.

  • Patent number: 7471356
Abstract: The present invention provides a reflector having a light-diffusing property which suppresses inter-object reflection over a wide angle, and giving particularly high reflectance in an intended range of viewing angle; and to provide a reflection type liquid crystal display device using the same. The reflector includes a plurality of light-reflective concave portions. Each of the concave portions is formed so that an inclination angle (an angle between a plane tangential to a point on a concave surface and the surface of the base material) is maximum on a side portion of the curved surface, and so that the direction of the side portion having the maximum inclination angle is on a far side from a view point of an observer.

  • Publication number: 20080296510
Abstract: It is devised to transport plasma including charged particles made of containment target atom ions and charged particles of a polarity opposite to that of the containment target atom ions, up to an empty fullerene film on a deposition-assistance substrate by a uniform magnetic field, and to give acceleration energies to the containment target atoms by a bias voltage applied to the deposition-assistance substrate, thereby implanting the containment target atoms into the fullerene film. Since attractive forces act between the charged particles constituting the plasma so that the plasma is not diverged, it becomes possible to achieve a high density ion implantation to improve a yield of containing-fullerene even in ion implantation with a low energy.

  • Patent number: 7426971
Abstract: A hybrid driving unit in which a first electric motor (20), a second electric motor (23), a transmission (22) and a power splitting planetary gear (21) are disposed in order from the front side (the side of an internal combustion engine) on an axis within a casing member (14). Since the first electric motor (20) and the second electric motor (23) are disposed adjacently to each other, partial cases for storing these first and second electric motors (20) and (23) may be combined, thus facilitating the accommodation for producing the unit in series.

  • Publication number: 20080226835
Abstract: According to a containing-fullerene production method by the background art, containment target ions obtained by ionizing containment target atoms have been irradiated to empty fullerene within a vacuum vessel. This has resulted in a problem of a lower formation efficiency of containing-fullerene, in case of forming containing-fullerene which internally contains an atom larger than a six-membered ring of fullerene. It is thus devised to irradiate ions having larger diameters and masses to a fullerene film, simultaneously with irradiation of containment target ions thereto. Since ions having larger masses collide with fullerene molecules, the fullerene molecules are largely deformed and openings thereof are enlarged. Containment target ions are caused to enter cages of fullerene molecules, thereby increasing a probability of formation of containing-fullerene.

  • Patent number: 7393296
Abstract: A hybrid driving unit (7) in which a second electric motor (23) is disposed on the side closer to the front of a vehicle (the side closer to an internal combustion engine (5)) than a first electric motor (20). A casing member (14) is formed such that an inner diameter of a part thereof, in which a stator (28) of the second electric motor (23) is fixed, is larger than that of a part in which a stator of the first electric motor (20) is fixed. This allows the second electric motor (23) to be constructed so as to have a large radial dimension and, to that extent, allows the length thereof in the longitudinal direction to be suppressed. Accordingly, this allows the length of the whole hybrid driving unit (7) to be shortened.

  • Publication number: 20080135314
Abstract: In setting of an oil temperature increasing process mode, the drive control technique of the invention starts an engine to actuate a mechanical oil pump that pressure feeds a flow of lubricating oil for lubricating the mechanical parts of a transmission and other relevant parts, actuates an electric oil pump that pressure feeds the flow of lubricating oil, and makes a brake B1 included in the transmission in a semi-engagement state. A motor arranged adjacent to the transmission is then driven with lowered output efficiency. This arrangement effectively accelerates heat generation by the motor and ensures a quick temperature rise of the lubricating oil.

  • Publication number: 20070295935
Abstract: Provided are a process for removing an alkali metal from a sooty residue by a easy and safe method and a process for production and purification in high purity by preliminarily enhancing the content rate of alkali metal doped fullerenes utilizing a certain organic solvent as the separator. The alkali metal that doesn't react with fullerenes and compounds thereof are removed by immersing the sooty residue prepared by the plasma method or the arc discharge method in aqueous solvent and stirring it (S100), and are collected as residue. The residue is immersed in a separator, for example, toluene (S101) and stirring is carried out (S102). Then, centrifugal separation and the like are carried out to separate the solution and the residue (S103). The content rate of the alkali metal doped fullerenes in the residue are preliminarily enhanced by repeatedly carrying out the steps S101 to S103 for the residue.

  • Publication number: 20070278527
Abstract: Integrated circuits such as semiconductor memories, image sensors, PLA's, and the like have been formed on rigid, planar substrates such as silicon substrates. This has resulted in shapes without flexibility and limited applicabilities. Further, since multiple circuit elements are continuously formed on a flat surface, it has been impossible to produce a non-defective semiconductor memory unless all the circuit elements are fabricated without defects, making it difficult to improve a yield. It is thus devised to weave or braid linear devices into a fabric shape to prepare a planar semiconductor memory, or to bundle up linear devices to prepare a linear semiconductor memory. The integrated circuit comprising the linear devices is flexible and light-weighted, and is thus usable in various applications. It becomes possible to prepare an integrated circuit by once fabricating linear devices and selecting only non-defective ones therefrom, thereby enabling an improved production yield of integrated circuits.

  • Patent number: 7255186
Abstract: An output of an internal combustion engine is transmitted to an output shaft by controlling a control motor to change a rotation speed output from the engine without speed steps via power distribution planetary gear. An output of a drive motor is input to the output shaft by changing the speed into two-step decelerated rotation by means of an automatic transmission. The transmission produces a desired torque by decelerating the speed by a large degree when a vehicle speed is low, and produces a desired number of revolutions by decelerating the speed by a small degree when the vehicle speed is high.

  • Publication number: 20070145352
Abstract: With regard to a solid polymer based fuel cell, an electrolyte membrane for conducting proton between a fuel electrode and an air electrode is conventionally made from a material obtained by chemically modifying a hollow fullerene such as C60 by means of a proton dissociable group. However, this fuel cell poses a following problem: since the proton conductivity of the membrane is so low that the internal resistance of battery is increased, which, when big current is extracted, causes the electromotive force to be reduced. The electrolyte membrane is made of a material obtained by chemically modifying an endohedral fullerene doped with an atom whose electronegativity is equal to or higher than 3, by means of a proton dissociable group, or a material made from an endohedral fullerene doped with an atom whose electronegativity is equal to or lower than 1.
