  • Publication number: 20040155113
Abstract: An invisible symbol reading apparatus includes a heating unit for heating an invisible symbol formed on a sample and containing a material which emits infrared light when heated, a detecting unit for detecting infrared light emitted from the invisible symbol, and an arithmetic operation unit for binarizing a detection signal from the detecting unit. The arithmetic operation unit calculates a differential coefficient of the detection signal, that corresponds to a position on the sample. On the basis of upper and lower threshold values set for the differential coefficient, the arithmetic operation unit determines a maximum value of the differential coefficient in a region exceeding the upper threshold value and a minimum value of the differential coefficient in a region smaller than the lower threshold value. The arithmetic operation unit binarizes the detection signal by using the maximum or minimum value as a loading or trailing edge of a binary function.

  • Publication number: 20040143771
Abstract: A signal recording/reproducing apparatus includes a first power source unit which generates necessary electric power signals from a commercial power source, a second power source unit which generates a necessary electric power signal from a battery, a recording signal processing unit, and a reproduced signal processing unit. The apparatus further includes time measuring instrument which is supplied with the electric power from the second power source unit, and a charging unit which charges the battery with the electric charges. Whenever the time measuring instrument measures a predetermined time, the generation of the electric power signals from the first power source unit is started, and the battery is charged with the electric charges by the charging unit.

  • Patent number: 6698202
Abstract: A master cylinder of the invention supplies a brake fluid from a large diameter pressurizing chamber 56 to a small diameter hydraulic chamber 49 by opening a reverse flow checking opening and closing portion 61 by sliding movement of a stepped piston 16 forwardly, that is, fast fill and when the hydraulic pressure of the large diameter pressurizing chamber 56 rises, a control valve 86 escapes the hydraulic pressure of the large diameter pressurizing chamber 56 to a reservoir 12 to gradually lower in accordance with rise of the hydraulic pressure of the small diameter hydraulic chamber 49, thereby capable of reducing a strange feeling in a pedal feeling caused by sudden pressure release of the large diameter pressuring chamber 56.

  • Publication number: 20030120745
Abstract: The present invention makes possible smooth acquisition of product information from a server over a network and display of the information. A product is provided with an RFID. When the user operates a cellular phone to read information from the RFID, the phone calls the RFID by transmitting RF waves to it. Upon receiving response data from the RFID, the cellular phone extracts a server access address and product ID from the data without awaiting the user's instructions to acquire information, and automatically accesses the product information server, based on the server access address. The information acquired from the product information server is displayed on the cellular phone screen. Thereby, the user can promptly have the information about the product.

  • Publication number: 20030088705
Abstract: A mail server and mail terminals are connected through a radio communication network. The mail server makes viral infection decision of if e-mails are infected with computer virus without burdening the mail terminals having poor processing power. The mail terminals are constructed to serve as small-sized mail terminals. When an e-mail arrives at the mail server through the Internet, the mail server decides if the e-mail is infected with virus. The result of the viral infection decision is added as the whole or a part of inspection information within the header of the e-mail. The corresponding mail terminal can detect presence or absence of viral infection on the basis of the inspection information. When the e-mail is infected with virus, the mail terminal can inform a user of the contaminated e-mail by making tone of a buzzer or vibrator different from a normal e-mail.
