  • Publication number: 20020032063
Abstract: With notice taken of the facts that the conventional tripod joints are designed with particular attention paid to the aspect of strength, particularly the strength of the shaft and that in the aspect of durability there is some room in the ordinary use, while considering balance between strength and durability, the size of the shell of the outer joint member is reduced as much as possible, so that weight reduction and compactification of the tripod joint are achieved.

  • Patent number: 6322453
Abstract: A perpendicular distance (PCR1) between a centerline (L1) including the center (O3) of the outer circumference surface (4b) of an outer roller (4), orthogonal to axis Z of a trunnion (2a) and a joint center O is shifted by &Dgr;h (=PCR1−PCR2) from a perpendicular distance (PCR2) between a centerline (L2) including the center (O1) of the outer circumference surface (3b) of an inner roller (3), orthogonal to axis Z of a trunnion (2a) and a joint center O. Under the most favorable conditions, PCR2 is shifted by an optimal amount of &Dgr;H from PCR1 toward the proximal end of the trunnion, and the position of contact (S) between the inner circumference surface (4a) of the outer roller 4 and the outer circumference surface (3b) of the inner roller (3) is located on the centerline (L1) (on PCR1) of the outer circumference surface (4b) of the outer roller (4).

  • Publication number: 20010041621
Abstract: The tripod member has three trunnions which are projected radially. Each of the trunnions carries a roller, and this roller is accommodated in one of the track grooves in the outer joint member. The outer peripheries of the rollers and the roller guideways make angular contact with each other. Support rings are fitted onto the outer peripheries of the trunnions. These support rings and the rollers are assembled (unitized) via a plurality of needle rollers to constitute roller assemblies capable of relative rotations. In longitudinal sections, the outer peripheries of the trunnions have straight shapes parallel to the axes of the trunnions. In cross sections, the outer peripheries are elliptic in shape, with their respective major axes perpendicular to the axis of the joint. The inner peripheries of the support rings have arcuate convex sections.

  • Patent number: 6264565
Abstract: In a tripod type constant velocity universal joint having a roller (28) carried by each of three trunnions (25) of an inner joint member (24) and accommodated in one of three guide grooves (22) of an outer joint member (21) so that the roller (28) rolls along track surfaces (23) of the corresponding guide groove on its convex outer periphery, cooperating surface portions (31a and 31b) and/or (32a and 32b) being provided, which come in contact with each other when the roller (28) is about to tilt in a plane perpendicular to the axis of the outer joint member.

  • Publication number: 20010008022
Abstract: An encoder and a decoder each having an error correcting operation, and a data transmission apparatus using them for data transmission in a multilevel modulation system. In transmission data is converted into parallel data. One bit thereof is inputted to a convolutional encoder to output two bits. Two bit data and another signal of the parallel data not inputted to the convolutional encoder are respectively separated into real part and imaginary part to independently decide signal points for the parallel data. In reception an area is similarly decided independently for real and imaginary parts and metric is assigned for the data. Real and imaginary parts are combined with each other for Viterbi decoding. Result thereof is fed to a convolutional encoder similar in constitution to that on transmission side. Using convolutional encoding output and decided area, transmission data is decoded.

  • Patent number: 6244967
Abstract: The boot fixing portion 2a is fitted on the outer peripheral surface 1a3 of the boot attaching portion 1a2, the positioning of the two being made such that the convex portion 2a2 is fitted in the engaging groove 1a4. Then the boot band 3 fitted in the band mounting groove 2a3 is reduced in diameter by folding back the lever member 3b, thereby clamping the boot fixing portion 2a to the boot attaching portion 1a2. Thereupon, the clamping force exerted by the boot band 3 causes elastic deformation of the boot fixing portion 2a, displacing the convex portion 2a2 toward the engaging groove 1a4, so that the projections 1a5 bite into the inner peripheral surface 2a1 of the boot fixing portion 2a.

  • Patent number: 5784781
Abstract: A manufacturing process for an organic chip carrier is disclosed which permits one to form a substantially bowl-shaped via hole in the substrate of the chip carrier, which makes it easy to deposit a conductive layer having a substantially uniform thickness on the sidewall of the via hole. In accordance with the manufacturing process, photosensitive resin 3 is provided on a substrate 1 in a thickness which is the thickness necessary for a final insulating layer plus a thickness to be removed by, for example grinding, the photosensitive resin 3. Cavities are then formed in the photosensitive resin 3 in a predetermined pattern by exposure and development. The photosensitive resin 3 formed with the cavities 8 is heat-cured. Subsequently, when the photo-cured layer 6a and a part of the heat-cured layer 3a are removed, e.g., ground off, a substantially bowl-shaped via hole 9 is formed.

  • Patent number: 5692962
Abstract: To reduce the cost in a resin boot attaching construction, a groove depth a and groove width b of engaging groove 21 and the height c and width d of ridges 22 are set within the following dimensional ranges:a=0.5-1.5 mmb=3.0-5.0 mmand b/a.gtoreq.3c=0.1-0.5 mmd=1.0-0. mm (where d=0, the ridges 22 become edges.) The width of the boot band is wider than the width of the groove.
