  • Publication number: 20130229278
Abstract: A device uses motion detection and heat detection to monitor a room and heating appliance and to remind a user to check on the appliance after a period of time. A motion detector sensor observes motion within a room or area by the heating appliance. If someone is in the area, then the device resets itself. If no one is detected, then the device alerts a user if heat is detected by a heat sensor. The alert prevents a possible heating or cooking emergency.

  • Publication number: 20130166462
Abstract: A system and method of executing a firearm transaction is presented. Customer information entered into a first form is received from a user terminal. The customer information is stored in a database and associated with a serial number. When an identity of the customer is authenticated at a location of the vendor, information describing the vendor and a firearm entered into a second form is received from a vendor terminal. The information describing the vendor and the firearm is stored in the database and associated with the serial number. A background check request is transmitted to a governmental agency. The background check includes at least a portion of the customer information. When the background check indicates that the transaction may proceed, at least a portion of the customer information, the vendor information, and the firearm information is transmitted to a point of sale system.

  • Patent number: 8387409
Abstract: A method and apparatus for sanitizing a water dispenser that dispenses water for human consumption is disclosed. The dispenser can be in the form of any dispenser that dispenses water for human consumption employing a reservoir that dispenses water through one or more spigots. Water in the reservoir is sanitized with an air/ozone gas mixture that is transmitted to a porous polymeric diffuser having a central bore and a porous wall. The porosity of the porous wall defines bubble size.

  • Patent number: 8343341
Abstract: A method and apparatus of sanitizing drinking water to be dispensed from a water dispenser having a reservoir includes the steps of providing the ozone gas generator that generates an ozone gas stream, transmitting the ozone gas stream from the generator to the water dispenser reservoir, mechanically breaking up the ozone gas stream inside the reservoir to produce ozone gas bubbles, and using the ozone gas bubbles to disinfect water in the reservoir. The ozone gas stream can be mechanically broken up using a pump such as, for example, an impeller type pump.

  • Publication number: 20100209313
Abstract: A method and apparatus for providing sanitized water in a cabinet and spigot type bottled water dispenser features an ozone generating system to generate ozone for sanitizing the water. Ozone is generated and collected within an ozone generator housing. A blower transmits air to the ozone generator housing. The air carries the ozone that is generated through a flow line to an air diffuser that is positioned upstream of the spigot (or spigots) used to dispense water. In one embodiment, a valve that is activated on the spigot to dispense water also activates the blower and ozone generator. In other embodiments, a flow sensor activates the ozone generator and blower. Various spigot and flow sensor arrangements are disclosed as a part of the overall apparatus and method.

  • Patent number: 7735605
Abstract: A method for erecting a platform is presented. The method includes providing a selectively liftable platform mechanism wherein the platform mechanism generally includes a platform, a trailer, at least one support bar, and a ladder. The at least one support bar and the ladder provide structural support for the platform when the platform is raised above the trailer. The at least one support bar has a proximal end pivotally connected to a first end of the trailer, and a distal end pivotally connected to the platform. The ladder has a distal end pivotally connected to the platform, and a proximal end pivotally and slidably connected to the trailer. The proximal end of the ladder is movable along a longitudinal axis of the trailer in order to level the platform in its raised position. The platform mechanism also includes a cable operatively connected to the platform.

  • Patent number: 7529940
Abstract: Methods, systems, and data structures are provided for selectively securing data within a message. A single message includes data. The data can be text data, attachment data, audio data, image data, or video data. Portions of the data are selectively identified with intended recipients. Multiple versions of the message are produced using the selective portions of the data. Each appropriate version of the message is delivered to the intended recipients. In one embodiment, the selective portions of the data are presented as links in the versions of the message, such that when an intended recipient accesses the link, the accessing recipient is first authenticated before being granted access to the selective portions of the data.
