  • Patent number: 4083160
Abstract: Structural and decorative unitary boards which may be laminated with a veneer are given a relief appearance by forming a rabbeted groove in the front face thereof, preferably rectangular in outline, and mounting therein from the front, tapered laminated strips having a thickness along one edge slightly less than the depth of the groove and the opposite narrow edge being substantially flush with the base of the groove. The entire panel thus presents a relief configuration in which substantially all of the exposed surfaces may be covered by the veneer. The panels may be used for doors used in kitchen cabinets, bathroom vanities and the like.

  • Patent number: 4009918
Abstract: Panel legs are provided to support one or more connected cabinets in a row and to raise and lower the cabinet to a pre-selected height. Each leg is relatively thin and is comprised of a fixed, lower frame adapted to rest on the floor and a moveable upper portion connected to the cabinet. The moveable upper portion is raised and lowered with respect to the fixed lower portion by means of a lever pivoted at one end to the fixed frame and at the other end adapted to be set into any one of a number of vertically spaced notches formed in a fixed vertical post forming part of the fixed leg section. The lever connects to the moveable upper portion of the leg and, by operation of the lever, the upper portion of the leg, together with any cabinets attached thereto, will be raised or lowered to a selected height. The working mechanism is contained within the leg and is normally hidden from view by means of a removable front panel.

  • Patent number: 4008551
Abstract: Structural and decorative boards laminated with a hard plastic veneer are given a relief appearance by forming a rabbeted groove, preferably rectangular in outline, and mounting therein tapered laminated strips having a thickness along one edge substantially corresponding to the depth of the groove and along the opposite narrow edge being substantially flush with the base of the groove. The entire panel thus presents a relief configuration while the exposed surfaces are covered by the plastic veneer. The panels may be used for doors used in kitchen cabinets, bathroom vanities and the like.

  • Patent number: 3997205
Abstract: A one-piece clip is provided for temporarily locking a cabinet door in a closed position. The clip is fabricated from a stiff, resilient material such as metal or plastic, wire or ribbon and is formed with a pair of reversing relatively deep U-shaped bends. The free end of one bend is shorter than the free end of the other bend and is also shorter than the cross-piece of the other bend whereby the clip, when mounted over the door jamb of the cabinet, is capable of limited lateral movement to allow the door first to swing clear for opening and installation and to be locked by laterally shifting the clip so that the outer U-shaped end engages the edge of the door in the closed position. The clip may be used for keeping the door shut during shipment of newly assembled cabinets, for example.

  • Patent number: 3955864
Abstract: A cabinet of the sort used as a vanity, or the like, is molded in several components connected in articulated relation for shipment in a flat, folded condition yet readily erected for installation. The components include a front panel formed with integral hinges connected to cooperating integral hinges formed on a pair of side panels adapted to fold over against one another and the front panel when the cabinet is in a collapsed position. A pair of shelves is provided, each with integral hinge pins pivotally engaging the front and side panels by sockets formed between the side panels and the front panel, both shelves being foldable against the front panel when collapsed. A back panel is provided for closing the rear of the cabinet when erected and means are provided for re-inforcing and supporting the various components from damage during shipment.
