  • Patent number: 7455068
Abstract: A carboy support bracket is disclosed for use with a basin, the basin having a peripheral wall having an upper surface defining a generally horizontal plane, the carboy support bracket comprising a frame configured for stable positioning on the upper surface of the peripheral wall, and an aperture for receiving and retaining a carboy in a generally inverted position. Heavy glass carboys used in wine and beer making by hobbyists can thereby be manipulated with ease during cleaning and drying, preventing build-up of sediment and condensation.

  • Publication number: 20070094892
Abstract: An article of apparel, such as a sock or a shoe, is disclosed as having a foot-supporting area for extending adjacent to a plantar surface of a foot. The foot-supporting area has various zones of differing thickness that attenuate forces upon the plantar surface to different degrees. The apparel may be manufactured through a process that includes utilizing a force mapping device to obtain data relating to forces upon the plantar surface of the foot. The sock is then formed to have zones of different thickness located to correspond with the areas of the plantar surface subjected to different magnitudes of forces.

  • Publication number: 20070043712
Abstract: The present invention is related to methods and systems for processing search requests and for performing searches over a network. In an embodiment, a recipient designation is received from a user over a network. The designation indicates that future searches performed by the user are to be associated with the recipient (even if the subject matter of the search is not related to the recipient). A search request is received from the user; causing a search to be performed in response to the search request. An identifier corresponding to the recipient is stored in association with an indication regarding the occurrence of the first search request.

  • Patent number: 7080983
Abstract: An educational device, such as a flipbook, is designed and utilized with an instructional methodology for teaching students about the structure of written words. The orthographic patterns found in English single-syllable words and syllables are shown using color-coded sets of pages, each imprinted with a letter or letter cluster comprising vowels, r—controlled vowels, vowel teams, initial and final consonants and consonant digraphs, initial and final consonant blends, or either of two silent es—“marvelous e” and “not so marvelous e.” Sets of prefix and suffix pages are also used, along with a schwa page, to indicate the sound of an unaccented vowel. Like letters, or letter clusters, can be substituted for each other in flipbook fashion, consonants for consonants and vowels for vowels, so that by rotating various flipbook pages, hat can be changed to hot, or hop, or chop.

  • Publication number: 20050129463
Abstract: An irrigation gate system installed in a channel (such as a ditch or canal) for controlling the flow of water through the channel maintaining a desired level of water upstream from the irrigation gate system or for controlling water flow downstream from the irrigation gate system. The irrigation gate system includes a gate which is maintained in a closed position for preventing water flow past the gate or alternatively, in one of a plurality of open positions for allowing desired amounts of water in the channel to flow past the gate. The gate is vertically hingedly connected to a pipe shaft supported by a frame installed in the channel. A gate actuator moves the gate between its various positions upon receiving signals from an electronic programmable controller which in turn may receive signals from a variety of sources.

  • Publication number: 20050028609
Abstract: A flow-monitoring method and device for measuring the flow of fluid through a conduit such as a pipeline or open channel. More particularly, the present invention relates to a method and device for monitoring fluid flow for metering purposes. In one embodiment, the device includes a sensor system in communication with a counter system. In a further embodiment, the sensor system includes a vane moveable between an activated and a deactivated position. When fluid flows past the vane, the vane is moved into an activated position and the sensor system in turn activates the counter system for recording the length of time during which fluid is being supplied through the pipeline or channel. When fluid is no longer supplied, the vane reverts to a deactivated position which signals the sensor system to turn off the counter system.

  • Publication number: 20040247673
Abstract: A wet granulated pharmaceutical composition comprising atorvastatin or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof with less than about 5 weight % of an alkaline earth metal salt additive with a disintegrant which provides the atorvastatin with not more than about 3% atorvastatin lactone based on the ratio of lactone peak area compared to the total drug-related peak integrated areas, as well as said wet granulated pharmaceutical composition comprising atorvastatin or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof in combination with at least one other active drug, methods for preparing said compositions, kits for containing such compositions, and a method of treating hypercholesterolemia and/or hyperlipidemia, osteoporosis, benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH), and Alzheimer's disease using a therapeutically effective amount of the pharmaceutical compositions.

  • Patent number: 6622463
Abstract: A large round baler is equipped with a net wrap feeding mechanism mounted to the rear and bottom of the bale discharge gate. The feeding mechanism includes upper and lower feed rolls, with the lower roll being located closer to the discharge gate than the lower roll and, the pair of rolls thus being arranged to deliver wrapping material against an upright run of bale forming belts, the latter acting to carry the net to a pinch point formed between the belts, where they pass around a lower rear belt support roll, and a guide pan of a net material guide assembly that extends beneath and adjacent a lower run of the belts. A net wrap material cut-off device includes a fixed knife blade located forwardly of and extending parallel to the lower feed roll. The cut-off device further includes a pair of transversely spaced cut-off arms between which extend and to which are fixed an anvil.

  • Patent number: 6272816
Abstract: An apparatus for wrapping net about bales formed in the baling chamber of a large round baler is arranged such that the net material supply roll is pressed directly against the driven wrap material feed roll by a pressure roll carried by a pair of transversely spaced lower arm portions of a lower arm section of a vertically swingable pressure arm assembly that also includes a separate, upper arm section. The force pressing the pressure roll against the supply roll originates with gas springs coupled to a linkage that is in turn coupled to transversely spaced upper arm portions of the upper arm section, these arm portions carrying respective force transfer rollers that engage respective intermediate sections of the lower arm portions.

  • Patent number: 5979141
Abstract: A large round baler is equipped with a device for wrapping bales with a web of net wrapping material. The device includes structure for supporting a spare supply roll of wrapping material a short distance vertically above a zone for containing an active supply roll of wrapping material. The structure for supporting the spare roll is selectively movable to a non-use position for permitting a pressure-applying roller, that normally engages the active supply roll of wrapping material, to be swung vertically out of the way so as to permit the spare supply roll to be moved into place as the active supply roll once the latter is depleted. A pair of retractable loading supports are provided for supporting the spare supply roll at a location reawardly of the zone prior to moving the spare roll into the zone to take the place of the depleted active supply roll.
