  • Patent number: 10267372
Abstract: A method and device for a compact shock isolation apparatus are disclosed. The apparatus is adapted for mounting a sensitive component to a base. The apparatus includes a collar, a plurality of axial flexures mounted to the base to attenuate an axial shock force/acceleration. A plurality of radial flexures extend axially between the collar and the axial flexures, connecting each of the axial flexures to the collar to attenuate radial and/or circumferential shock forces/acceleration. A plurality of attachment pads disposed between adjacent radial flexures extend axially from the collar toward the axial flexures and attach to the sensitive component. The shock isolation apparatus supports the sensitive component in non-contacting proximity to the base. The apparatus optionally includes vibration dampening material disposed between the sensitive component and the axial flexures and/or the radial flexures.

  • Patent number: 9942179
Abstract: Generally in a computing environment, executing work based on time (i.e. according to a predetermined schedule) is a common need. However, in cloud based systems, scheduled work may be expensive to customers as generally customers rent system resources. Thus, having a processor dedicated to performing actions that have been pre-scheduled can be expensive. This application describes using a continuation-based runtime for scheduling time-bound and/or periodic work in a distributed (i.e. cloud) system. A system architecture and computer-implemented method are described that deploy an environment-independent action to a remote-based system (such as a cloud computing system, for example). The action is limited to using a predetermined amount of resources and is limited to simple, non-cpu intensive orchestrations of network calls.

  • Patent number: 9819189
Abstract: A switchable supply network for powering multiple digital islands. In one embodiment, a first digital island includes a first power collapsible circuit and a first retention circuit, and a second digital island includes a second power collapsible circuit and a second retention circuit. In a normal mode of operation, the first digital island is provided a first supply voltage and a second digital island is provided a second supply voltage higher than the first supply voltage. In a transition mode the second power collapsible circuit is powered down and the second supply voltage is lowered and provided to the second retention circuit. When the second supply voltage falls below the first supply voltage, the first power collapsible circuit is powered down. The second supply voltage is now provided only to the retention circuits, and is furthered lowered in a retention mode to a final retention voltage.

  • Patent number: 9798738
Abstract: The present invention extends to methods, systems, and computer program products for creating and manipulating custom compound data types in declarative programs. The present invention allows a developer to create and use custom compound data types without requiring the custom type to be specifically defined (e.g. via registering a custom assembly) in the underlying framework. This is accomplished by providing a data container that is configurable to represent virtually any combination of primitive or compound types defined within the framework. The present invention also provides a declarative model for interacting with data containers representing custom compound data types. This declarative model employs a path-based syntax (or other type of syntax) for accessing the elements of a custom compound data type. Multiple paths can be defined within a single unit of developer input so that multiple elements of a custom data type can be manipulated by the single unit of input.

  • Patent number: 9779197
Abstract: A method and system of merging one-bit cells in an integrated circuit layout, comprising a database to store the layout, a placer in communication with the database to update the layout, and a merger in communication with the placer. The merger is configured to: identify a set of one-bit cells in the integrated circuit layout; determine a set of merge cells, from among the identified set of one-bit cells, to be merged into a multi-bit register, the determination of the set of merge cells being based on each merge cell being located within a merge distance from each of the other merge cells in the set of merge cells, and each merge cell sharing a clock with the other merge cells in the set of merge cells; and generate instructions to the placer for merging the set of merge cells to form the multi-bit register in the integrated circuit layout.

  • Publication number: 20170215766
Abstract: Disclosed herein are systems comprising sensor devices that may be affixed to a patient and used to perform clinical measurements such as measurements for calculating a BASMI score. A first sensor device is configured to be successively attached to each of a wrist carrier, an ankle carrier, and a headset carrier. The carriers are attached to, or positioned next to, the relevant portion of the patient's body in order to perform particular measurements relating to generating a BASMI score. As the patient performs the routine of motions associated with a particular BASMI measurement, the sensor device records the measurements and communicates the measurements to a user computing device. A second sensor device is configured to be applied to the patient's torso and an additional measurement of patient flexibility taken and communicated to the user computing device. The user computing device generates a BASMI score from the recorded measurements.

  • Patent number: 9614583
Abstract: Methods, systems, and apparatus for crosstalk avoidance in a telecommunications network are disclosed. In one aspect a method includes determining, by a network element and for each vectoring group from multiple vectoring groups, a transmission load of the vectoring group based on transmission loads of links within the vectoring group; allocating, by the network element, a different transmission interval to each vectoring group from the multiple vectoring groups based on the transmission load of the vectoring group and transmission loads of other vectoring groups in the multiple vectoring groups; and transmitting, during each different transmission interval, at least a portion of the transmission load of the vectoring group that was allocated the different transmission interval.

  • Patent number: 9575732
Abstract: Embodiments are directed to presenting multiple projections of a declarative program and to presenting partial projections of a declarative program. In one scenario, a computer system establishes a declarative program that includes various artifacts. The computer system displays a first projection of the declarative program, which includes one or more elements of a workflow. The computer system then determines that an additional projection is to be displayed in addition to the first projection, and presents a second projection based on the artifacts of the declarative program. The second projection illustrates the artifacts in a form different than that shown in the first projection, and is presented in addition to the first projection. In some cases, the computer system further receives an input and edits the declarative program according to the received input. The edits to the declarative program are substantially lossless, and can be performed using partial or full projections.
