  • Patent number: 9553818
Abstract: Methods, systems, and apparatus, including computer programs encoded on a computer storage medium, for implementing biased bonding. In one aspect, a method includes estimating an offered load. Data are transmitted over a first communications link of two or more different types of communications links while the estimated offered load is less than or equal to a specified amount. A determination is made that the estimated offered load has exceeded the specified amount. In response to the determination data are transmitted over both of the first communications link and a second communications link of the two or more different types of communications links in response to determining that the estimated offered load has exceeded the specified amount.

  • Patent number: 9536264
Abstract: Sending or receiving messages in a host agnostic way in a continuation based runtime. A method includes defining a contract between a continuation based runtime and host for sending or receiving a message. The contract defines one or more of: details about what should be included in the messages, operations for sending the message; operations for receiving the message, parameters for cancellation of inflight operations, or notifications about correlation information lifetime. The method further includes identifying a correlation handle. The correlation handle uniquely identifies an executing instance of an activity. The method further comprises identifying a bookmark. The bookmark defines where the continuation based runtime should resume after sending or receiving the message. The method further comprises calling the contract using the correlation handle and the bookmark to allow the message to be correctly routed by the host and for the continuation based runtime to be correctly resumed.

  • Patent number: 9490934
Abstract: Methods, systems, and apparatus for crosstalk avoidance in a telecommunications network are disclosed. In one aspect a method includes determining, by a network element and for each vectoring group from multiple vectoring groups, a transmission load of the vectoring group based on transmission loads of links within the vectoring group; identifying, by the network element, a resource allocation interval (RAI) that is shared by the multiple vectoring groups; determining, based on the transmission load of each vectoring group and by the network element, a first portion of the RAI that will be a normal operation interval (NOI) and a second portion of the RAI that will be a discontinuous operation interval (DOI); transmitting, by the network element, data over all of the multiple vectoring groups during at least a portion of the NOI; and transmitting, by the network element, data over fewer than all of the vectoring groups during the entire DOI.

  • Publication number: 20160313530
Abstract: A system includes a dome-shaped optical component having a substantially circular edge and a mounting base for the optical component. A recess is in an outer surface of the optical component. A projection on an inner surface of the mounting base and is configured to engage the recess. An adhesive material is between the optical component and the mounting base. The adhesive material forms an upper band and a lower band with a void between the upper band and the lower band. The void is positioned relative to the recess in the outer surface of the optical component such that a bending stress in the optical component at the recess is less than what the bending stress would be without the void. A heater is inside and thermally coupled to the optical component.

  • Patent number: 9304888
Abstract: Embodiments are directed to executing a workflow using a virtualized clock and to ensuring idempotency and correctness among workflow processes. In one scenario, a computer system a computer system determines that a workflow session has been initialized. The workflow session runs as a set of episodes, where each episode includes one or more pulses of work that are performed when triggered by an event. Each workflow session is processed according to a virtualized clock that keeps a virtual session time for the workflow session. The computer system receives an event that includes an indication of the time the event was generated, and then accesses the received event to determine which pulses of work are to be performed as part of a workflow session episode. The computer system then executes the determined pulses of work according to the virtual session time indicated by the virtualized clock.

  • Patent number: 9292342
Abstract: Generally in a computing environment, executing work based on time (i.e. according to a predetermined schedule) is a common need. However, in cloud based systems, scheduled work may be expensive to customers as generally customers rent system resources. Thus, having a processor dedicated to performing actions that have been pre-scheduled can be expensive. This application describes using a continuation-based runtime for scheduling time-bound and/or periodic work in a distributed (i.e. cloud) system. A system architecture and computer-implemented method are described that deploy an environment-independent action to a remote-based system (such as a cloud computing system, for example). The action is limited to using a predetermined amount of resources and is limited to simple, non-cpu intensive orchestrations of network calls.

  • Patent number: 9286720
Abstract: An exemplary system and method are disclosed for providing a combined video stream with geospatial information. Embodiments use a visualization tool to synchronize information in a virtual camera with attributes, such as video frames, from a physical camera. Once the camera position information is supplied to the visualization tool, the visualization tool retrieves geospatial data, such as terrain features, man made features, and time sensitive event data, and transforms the camera position information into a coordinate system of the virtual camera. The visualization tool uses the coordinate system of the virtual camera to generate geospatial snapshots. Embodiments use locative video software to combine the video frames from the physical camera with the geospatial snapshots from the virtual camera to generate a combined video stream, which provides a single view of multiple types of data to enhance an operator's ability to conduct surveillance and analysis missions.
