  • Patent number: 11840633
Abstract: The present invention is directed to dirt and anti-microbial resistant compositions and articles that include a powder coating composition formed from a precursor including polymeric binder resin, cross-linker, and a blend of liquid carrier and anionic fluorosurfactant. The powder coating may be formed using a liquid-based anionic fluorosurfactant wherein the solids content of the anionic fluorosurfactant within the precursor is from about 13 wt. % to about 28 wt. %.
    Type: Grant

  • Publication number: 20230250297
Abstract: The present invention relates to an improved formaldehyde-free coated fibrous substrate. The coating includes a crosslinked binder system which forms three dimensional networks when heat cured. After the coating is applied to the back of fibrous substrate and cured, the coating is capable of hygroscopic expansion which imparts excellent anti-sag properties. The coating is compatible with other coating systems with neutral or mild alkaline pH. The improvement being the binding system is neutralized with a volatile base so that it evaporates quickly so as not to hinder the cross-linking reaction.
    Type: Application
    Filed: April 18, 2023
    Publication date: August 10, 2023
Inventors: Lida LU, Kenneth G. CALDWELL
  • Publication number: 20230183974
Abstract: Described herein is a coated building panel having a body and a surface coating atop the body, the surface coating comprising inorganic pigment and a polymeric dispersant comprising a polymer backbone and pendant side chains extending from the polymer backbone; wherein the surface coating comprises a liquid carrier in an amount less than about 1 wt. % based on the total weight of the surface coating.
