  • Publication number: 20210359918
Abstract: Described herein are systems and methods for QoS chaining based on control-plane virtual functions for ensuring end-to-end Quality of Service (QoS) of Internet services. The QoS chaining coordinates broadband service delivery via an orchestrated “chain” or Network Service (NS) consisting of control-plane Virtual Network Functions (VNFs) running in the cloud or virtual infrastructure. Separate service elements, network elements, network domains or other service plane or data plane elements or systems have a separate corresponding VNF in the control plane provide monitor and control functions. QoS is ensured End-to-End (E2E) across the chain of VNFs by coordination through the QoS chain or by a coordinating or integrating E2E orchestrator or E2E VNF. The VNFs may be chained, may communicate directly with each other, and may communicate directly with the E2E orchestrator, may communicate with each other through the E2E orchestrator, or may communicate through a shared database.

  • Publication number: 20210289586
Abstract: Described herein are systems and methods for closed loop automation between Wi-Fi wireless network nodes. Multiple closed loops may operate among a plurality of Wi-Fi network nodes to provide management of multiple Wi-Fi access points (APs). The plurality of Wi-Fi network nodes may comprise controllers, management systems and multiple Wi-Fi APs. Multiple decision elements reside at any of the plurality of Wi-Fi network nodes and perform data collection, analysis, and provide output to one or more managed entities. The provided output optimizes performance of networks, devices, services and/or applications of the one or more managed entities. • Publication number: 20210099277
Abstract: Embodiments of the present invention provide systems, devices and methods for improving the performance and range of wireless communication systems. In various embodiments, a wireless and wireline architecture is implemented to allow a channel to more efficiently span physical barriers within the channel. The wireline portion of the channel may leverage pre-existing copper deployed within a building by interfacing copper with north and south transceiver nodes that allow the signal to propagate through a physical structure on the wire itself resulting in significantly less signal degradation compared to the signal having to traverse the physical structure wirelessly.

  • Publication number: 20200404540
Abstract: Various embodiments of the invention relate to system and method for combined management with user preferences of Wi-Fi and cellular data. The system presents diagnostics data to users in one or more ways showing the impact on their applications, and allows the user to provide high-level control of the use of the two or more connections. Embodiments of the system diagnose both Wi-Fi/broadband and cellular data; at both low layers, such as physical, link, or network layers; and high layers, such as session, presentation, or application layers. Joint cellular data and Wi-Fi diagnostics are determined, and the impact of the diagnostics to application performances may also be shown. Recommendations may be further provided for network policies and configurations aimed at the user's preferences and applications.

  • Publication number: 20200287810
Abstract: A Device Abstraction Proxy (DAP) interface receives a request for operational data relating to broadband access line services provided to a plurality of broadband access terminals in a network by multiple providers. The DAP interface receives, in response to the request, operational data for multiple DSL lines coupled to the multiple broadband access terminals. The DAP then identifies multiple broadband access lines as belonging to a common neighborhood of broadband access lines, each of the multiple DSL lines respectively associated with multiple broadband access terminals being provided the broadband access services by different providers. Embodiments correlate a condition and/or a performance of one of the multiple broadband access lines identified as belonging to the common neighborhood with a condition and/or performance of another one of the multiple broadband access lines identified as belonging to the common neighborhood.

  • Publication number: 20200280863
Abstract: Presented are Ergodic Spectrum Management (ESM) systems and methods that take advantage of the presence of statistical consistencies (“ergodicity”) and correlations, such as a wireless network's average dimensional consistencies of probability distributions (in time, space, and frequency) of channel gains, to adaptively learn qualitative and quantitative network/user behavior; estimate or predict network performance; and guide locally implemented radio resource management (RRM) decisions of wireless multi-user transmissions in a manner such as to reduce interference and improve latency; connection stability; efficiency; and overall wireless performance. ESM also enhances end-users' Quality of Experience (QoE) by allowing movement across bands and regions as users/devices roam. A remote-cloud-based resource management implementation of ESM's Learn-ed Resource Managers (LRMs) removes the need for heavy edge-computing close to radio cells.

  • Publication number: 20200153974
Abstract: The transmit power level of a transceiver coupled to a digital subscriber line (DSL) line is reduced from a first transmit power level sufficient for the transceiver to transmit data on the DSL line at a first bit rate to a second transmit power level below the first transmit power level sufficient for the transceiver to transmit data on the DSL line at a second bit rate that is lower than the first bit rate. The reduction in transmit power is limited so that the change does not induce time-varying crosstalk sufficient to destabilize a nearby DSL line. While the transmit power level of the transceiver is reduced to the second transmit power level, the transceiver is suspended from transmitting data on the DSL line for repeated periods of time. Suspending the data transmission is controlled to avoid further time-varying crosstalk sufficient to destabilize the nearby DSL line.

  • Patent number: 10554824
Abstract: The transmit power level of a transceiver coupled to a digital subscriber line (DSL) line is reduced from a first transmit power level sufficient for the transceiver to continuously transmit data on the DSL line at a first bit rate to a second transmit power level below the first transmit power level sufficient for the transceiver to continuously transmit data on the DSL line at a second bit rate that is lower than the first bit rate. The reduction in transmit power is limited so that the change does not induce time-varying crosstalk sufficient to destabilize a nearby DSL line.
