  • Patent number: 7164086
Abstract: By providing a cover member which is pivotally mounted to the base member and is constructed for being automatically securely affixed to the base member by frictional and locking engagement therewith, an efficient, easily manufactured and easily assembled conduit/cable connector is realized. In addition, the cover member comprises a pair of gripping fingers constructed for engaging and holding a flexible metal conduit and/or armored or metal clad cable. As a result of this construction, the operator is able to quickly and easily insert a flexible metal conduit and/or armored or metal clad cable into the gripping fingers of the cover member, and then arcuately pivot the cover member and the engaged metal conduit and/or armored or metal clad cable into the precisely desired mounted position with the base member.

  • Patent number: 7071410
Abstract: By providing a continuous, elongated strip of material, which comprises an arcuately curved section in combination with at least one flange section extending outwardly from the curved section, an efficient, easily manufactured, and readily installed protector shield is realized. By employing the shield construction of the present invention, any desired tube, pipe, conduit or cable, such as a non-metallic electrical power carrying cable, is capable of being completely surrounded by a protective shield which is affixed directly to any support wall, such as a concrete or cinder block wall, with both ease and convenience. In addition, numerous other tubes, cables, and conduits, such as water carrying tubes, low-voltage cables, signal carrying cables, and other utility tubes, pipes, and conduits are capable of being similarly protected.

  • Patent number: 7064273
Abstract: A connector assembly for securing an electrical conductor to an electric box which includes a metallic connector body having an inlet end portion and an outlet end portion with a frustro-conical snap fit retainer ring circumscribing the outlet end portion of the connector body. The frustro-conical, snap fit, retainer ring is formed from an elongated blank of spring steel material having integrally blanked out of the plane thereof a series of holding tangs bent outwardly from the plane of the ring with one or more grounding tangs disposed in co-planar relationship relative to the surface of the frustro-conical ring, whereby the outlet end of the connector assembly can be readily inserted through a knock-out hole of an electric box for securely locking the connector assembly to an electric box and insuring a positive electrical grounding effect.

  • Patent number: 7057107
Abstract: An electric connector assembly having a connector body defining an inlet end portion and an outlet end portion interconnected by a through bore wherein the outlet end portion is provided with a tapering frustro conical surface that is circumscribed by an external retainer ring of a frustro conical shape complementing the frustro conical outer surface of the outlet end portion. The conical external retainer ring also includes locking and grounding tangs arranged to effect a snap fit connection of the connector assembly to a knock-out hole of an electric box or panel. The electric connector assembly further contemplates the use of internal wire conductor retainer associated with the inlet end portion so as to effect the attachment of an electric wire conductor thereto with a snap fit in a manner that prohibits any unintentional separation of the electric wire conductor therefrom.
