  • Patent number: 7550267
Abstract: An improved microscale diffusion immunoassay utilizing multivalent reactants is disclosed. In particular, a method for detecting the presence of analyte particles in an analyte fluid is disclosed, the method comprising: (a) providing the analyte fluid comprising the analyte particles; (b) providing a diffusion fluid comprising binding particles capable of binding with the analyte particles; (c) flowing the analyte fluid and the diffusion fluid in adjacent laminar flow through a microfluidic channel; (d) allowing the analyte particles to diffuse into the diffusion fluid and bind with the binding particles to form analyte/binding particle complexes; and (e) detecting the presence of the analyte particles and the analyte/binding particle complexes, wherein each of the binding particles is capable of binding with more than one analyte particle, and wherein each of the analyte particles is capable of binding with more than one binding particle.

  • Patent number: 4493013
Abstract: A lighting fixture having a dish-shaped chassis which houses lighting elements including tube sockets, transformers, and ancillary electrical components. The chassis is sleeved within a protective, unitary, shatter-proof plastic closure shell having opaque, marginally disposed panel sections and an opaque circumscribing wall assembly integrally formed with and substending a light-transmitting diffuser lens bounded by a transversely extending, integrally-formed light-transmitting frame. The opaque panel sections shield the chassis-housed tube sockets and transformers from view exteriorly of the fixture.

  • Patent number: 4025780
Abstract: A fluorescent light fixture is disclosed which comprises an elongate base plate member adapted to be mounted on a wall or other support and having inturned side flanges forming oppositely disposed channels for frictionally retaining marginal portions of the side walls of an inverted tray member which has a truncated triangle cross section and on the open ends of which are mounted lamp receiving sockets connected by wiring to a ballast member mounted on the inside of the tray. The tray member is of resilient material permitting the side walls to be contracted along the length thereof for insertion of the marginal portions in the side channels on the base plate member. The base plate member has end walls with portions bendable to a position over the ends of the support member to lock the latter in place and a readily detachable light diffusing lens member is provided for enclosing the assembly including a lamp mounted in the lamp sockets.
