Abstract: A system for managing an insurance scheme includes a benefit module to define at least one insured event for an insured person and to define at least one benefit to be paid out on the occurrence of one of the insured events. A monitoring module monitors any interest rate increases or decreases as set by a financial institution. A calculation module alters the at least one benefit based on any monitored change in interest rate, wherein the amount of the altering is related to the amount of the increase or decrease of the interest rate and an awards module, on the occurrence of the at least one insured event, provides the at least one altered benefit to the insured person.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a method of managing the business of a medical scheme wherein the provider of such medical scheme undertakes liability in return for a premium or contribution, and provides to members who pay such premiums or make such contributions, relevant health services, and/or assistance in defraying expenses incurred in connection with rendering such relevant health services. The improvement comprises in calculating a difference amount which is the amount of the premiums or contributions paid by a member to the medical scheme less the costs incurred on the member's behalf by the medical scheme. This difference amount is then accumulated in a health fund. At a predetermined point in time, if the balance in the health fund is positive, the member is paid out at least a portion of the balance in the health fund.

The insured life is provided with a choice of receiving treatment in the country in which they reside or receiving treatment in another country. A selected country is received from the insured life and an amount of funds is paid from the insurer to the insured life wherein the amount of funds is at least partially determined by the selected country.

Abstract: A wind-capturing electrical generator device comprising a plurality of generators is driven by wind created by traffic passing in close proximity at high speeds. The device preferably uses horizontally or vertically mounted Savonius-type or helical-turbine-type rotors attached to electrical generators in order to capture the wind and produce electrical energy. A plurality of electrical generator devices may be mounted in a configuration such that they are in close proximity to vehicular passageways (e.g., highway overpasses, tunnels, or train rails). The wind created by the traffic is used to rotate the vanes and their attached generators in order to produce electrical energy.

Abstract: An apparatus for processing, stacking and thereafter collecting printed forms, includes: a dual registering stacking interface, that stacks and accumulates forms in a stack or in a continuing feeding as separate forms; and, a sequencer merger that receives the forms from the dual registering stacking interface and directs the forms in a selected order to an output end. The output end communicates with an accumulator that feeds the forms to a folder. The folder thereafter feeds the forms to a collector to be held until called for by a subsequent downstream device, such as a mail inserter device. The register, accumulator and collector are belt and/or roller driven devices, wherein the invention provides clutching assemblies for the transport belts and rollers in order to eliminate the streaking of the printed forms when idled forms are held stationary against the transport belts.
