Abstract: A mass notification push application and a civic-communication application combined into one with the primary purpose of allowing up-to-the-minute UAV aerial imagery as selected by drone ground-based commanders to be automatically transmitted to subscribed end-users via the current OS mobile operating systems for smartphones, iPads, laptops, and web-enabled devices in a manner comprised of separate technologies such as voice (voice to text, voice recognition), video stills (embedded with personalized iconographic identifiers), and with a secondary purpose of allowing the notified recipients to engage others by allowing the retransmitting of received messages along with (or without) registered user annotations so as to create a civil communications hub for wider, real-time dissemination of ongoing situational awareness data.

A casino patron's hand held device can enable to view sporting events provided to a hand held device from a server and placement of wagers with the server. Venue-based data including video and statistics are received from server including camera views captured as video by at least one camera located within at least one sports venue. Venue-based data is processed at server for display on a display associated with at least one hand held device operating within a casino. Venue-based data is displayed on hand held devices, enabling casino patrons to view event video. Portable devices can be authorized only when moving about a casino. Casino patrons can also gamble using said hand held device while viewing selected sporting events within the casino.

Biometric data can be provided from a remote server after preliminary identification of the user based on identification information wirelessly provided from a portable electronic device carried with the user when the user is located near a point of entry, such as, for example, a border crossing or access point to a secure facility. In some embodiments, the VPS devices may be implemented as transponders.
