  • Patent number: 10864391
Abstract: Embodiments relate generally to absorbing elements in respiratory face masks. Applicants have developed a structure for respiratory masks that can both absorb moisture from the face (such as perspiration, as well as from condensed moisture in the breath), and maintain a low breath resistance (won't increase the breath resistance significantly). The structure may comprise an annular structure added to the respiratory masks for moisture management, wherein the annular structure comprises moisture absorbent materials. This structure may also be known as an absorbing element operable to absorb moisture effectively, provide a respiratory mask with improved moisture control characteristics, reduce fogging of a face shield or eyeglasses of the wearer, and reduce the amount of uncomfortable moisture buildup on the face of the wearer.

  • Patent number: 10850138
Abstract: Embodiments relate generally to connectors for use with harness and backplate systems in an SCBA. An SCBA may comprise a backplate for holding a cylinder of air and a harness with straps operable to attach to the backplate. Applicants have developed a backplate connector that provides a reliable quick connection and disconnection for straps attached to a backplate. The connector may fit into a slot on the backplate. In some embodiments, a plurality of connectors may be used to connect a plurality of straps to the backplate. Additionally, the connector may comprise a clip or other attachment operable to secure one or more hoses of the SCBA. This design may prevent the air hoses being hooked accidently, and the attachment of the hoses may help to secure the connector into the slot of the backplate, reducing the change of the connector disconnecting during normal usage.

  • Publication number: 20200363580
Abstract: A luminaire includes a housing with a cavity, a non-planar lens, and a light emitter. The non-planar lens is coupled to the housing. The lens defines a generally circular footprint and a concavo-convex shape. The light emitter is positioned proximate an edge of the cavity and is configured to emit light into an edge of the lens and toward a center of the cavity.

  • Publication number: 20200359717
Abstract: A face mask (100) may comprise at least one layer of filtration material (218) configured to filter one or more harmful substances from the air breathed by a user; at least one layer of absorbent material (214) configured to absorb moisture exhaled by the user, wherein the at least one layer of absorbent material (214) spans the entire inner surface area of the mask (100); at least one layer of waterproof material (216) located between the at least one layer of filtration material (218) and the at least one layer of absorbent material (214) configured to prevent moisture from the absorbent material from contacting the filtration material; and at least one layer of anti-bacterial material (212) located adjacent to the at least one layer of absorbent material (214) and forming the inner surface of the mask (100). The face mask (100) can absorb moisture exhaled by a user.

  • Publication number: 20200127745
Abstract: A method for profiling the performance of a wireless local area network may include receiving, from a wireless access point (WAP), measurements associated with client devices in a wireless local area network (WLAN), and identifying a dominance of the client devices in the WLAN. The method may further include classifying the received measurements into categories representing channel qualities with the client devices in the WLAN, and transforming the categories of the client devices into values. The method may further include determining a profile of the WLAN based on the values and the dominance of the client devices.

  • Patent number: 10589137
Abstract: Embodiments relate generally to a self-contained breathing apparatus (SCBA comprising a waist pad bumper system. The waist pad bumper system may comprise a soft rubber gasket located between the waist pad and the backplate of the SCBA, operable to compress to cushion the movement of the backplate with respect to the waist pad; a hard rubber gasket located between the waist pad and the backplate operable to compress to cushion the movement of the backplate with respect to the waist pad; one or more magnets located on the waist pad; and one or more magnets located on the backplate operable to interact with the one or more magnets located on the waist pad, wherein the magnets of the waist pad have the same polarization as the magnets of the backplate and therefore repel each other.
