  • Publication number: 20070087714
Abstract: A double conversion tuner system is disclosed that avoids the problem of degraded performance as a result of radiated interferers. Several selection criteria are described for specifying the parameters of the tuner, including the nominal first or high intermediate frequency, a first local oscillator signal for each desired channel, a nominal second local oscillator signal, and a bandwidth of the first intermediate frequency.

  • Patent number: 7155178
Abstract: A circuit system for wireless communications via two antennas. The circuit system includes a printed circuit board having a predetermined area devoid of a solder mask. According to the invention, an antenna switch, filter, and power amplifier are mounted on the printed circuit board within the predetermined area. The antenna switch connects the filter and the power amplifier with the two antennas. The filter blocks unwanted frequency components in an RF receive signal from either of the antennas. A transceiver is responsible for down-converting the RF receive signal a baseband receive signal and up-converting a baseband transmit signal to an RF transmit signal. A first matching network coupled between the filter and the transceiver transforms the RF receive signal from single-ended to differential. Likewise, a second matching network coupled between the transceiver and the power amplifier transforms the RF transmit signal from differential to single-ended.

  • Publication number: 20060148406
Abstract: A dynamic arrangement for reducing the presence of ingress noise in the upstream signal path of a two-way cable system utilizes a variable attenuation element and amplifier disposed along the upstream signal path. The amplifier includes a bypass switch so that the amplifier may be switched in to or out of the upstream path. A signal processor associated with the communications gateway functions to calculate the upstream loss present at the gateway and control the operation of the attenuation element, amplifier and bypass switch accordingly. Upstream attenuation is selected to be as large as possible, yet still allow in-building cable devices to communicate with their associated head end (HE) receiver equipment, after accounting for maximum transmit limitations.

  • Publication number: 20060131219
Abstract: A reverse osmosis filter machine with autocontrol structure has an IC control system. The IC control system predetermines lifespan and maximum load of filter flux of filters, and computes respective operation time of said filters. A pure water sensor, a booster pump, a low pressure switch, a high pressure switch, an inlet electromagnetic valve and a washing electromagnetic valve connect together with the IC control system. The user knows operation state of the filters and the reverse osmosis filter at any time. The IC control system prompts replacement of the filters. The IC control system also determines whether water is allowed to flow into the filters, thereby automatically halting water when water quality is unqualified.

  • Patent number: 6649834
Abstract: An injection molded image sensor includes metal sheets arranged in a matrix, an injection molded structure, a photosensitive chip, bonding pads, wires, and a transparent layer. Each metal sheet has a first board, a second board and a third board to form a -shaped structure. The injection molded structure encapsulates the metal sheets by way of injection molding and has a first molded body and a second molded body. The injection molded structure has a U-shaped structure and is formed with a cavity. The first, second, and third boards are exposed from top, bottom, side surfaces of the first molded body. The photosensitive chip is mounted within the cavity. The bonding pads are formed on the photosensitive chip. The wires electrically connect the bonding pads to signal input terminals of the first boards. The transparent layer covers over the first molded body to encapsulate the photosensitive chip.

  • Patent number: 6615698
Abstract: A dual-end cutting machine for trimming assembled blinds has fixed spacing between a pair of trimming units, which are adapted from conventional power miter saws. The blind assembly is clamped to a carriage that is movable on tracks between the trimming units, and adjustable stops are supported at opposite ends of the machine. The adjustable stops also have actuators for movement between an advanced position for positioning the blinds for cutting, and a retracted position that facilitates evacuation of scraps and chips from respective collector boxes wherein cutting takes place to a vacuum holding tank. A method for trimming includes clamping the blinds to the carriage with components aligned against one stop member, trimming that end of the blinds, moving the carriage to abut the blinds against the other stop, and trimming the other end of the blinds.

  • Patent number: 5903778
Abstract: A method for enabling traditional SCSI peripheral equipment to be compatible with a PLUG-AND-PLAY protocol comprising steps of: selecting an SCSI peripheral device as an object and assigning a predetermined identification number to the selected SCSI peripheral device; periodically detecting the signal status on an SCSI bus so as to change a specific signal level to thus communicate with a host computer which determines whether the assigned identification number is permitted; and delaying a time period during the detection of the signal status on the SCSI bus when the permission to assign an identification number has not been determined, and abandoning the assigned identification number when the same identification number has been found to be used by another SCSI peripheral device.

  • Patent number: 5510843
Abstract: An apparatus and method are provided for reducing flicker and/or vertically scaling an interlaced video image. In a first embodiment, a sequence controller selectively addresses a video memory to retrieve pixel data from adjacent scan lines. The pixel data is multiplexed and converted into RGB data in a look up table and stored in upper and lower latches as upper and lower pixel data. The upper and lower pixel data is then weighted using a predetermined weighting scheme to produce hybrid pixel color data for an even or odd field. By reducing relative contrast between even and odd field lines, flicker is reduced. In a second embodiment, vertical resolution is reduced, for example, from 480 lines to 400 lines, by applying a series of weighting schemes or filters to weight data from six input lines into five output lines. To reduce flicker in the output lines, data from adjacent lines may weighted to reduce relative contrast.
