  • Patent number: 11918246
Abstract: A surgical device, such as a debrider, can include an elongated inner shaft that is movable within an elongated, hollow outer shaft. An actuator can controllably impart movement to a proximal portion of the inner shaft. A cutting element, located at a distal portion of the inner shaft, can move with the inner shaft. The outer shaft can expose the cutting element as the inner shaft moves. The inner shaft can include a flexible inner shaft portion. A plurality of bearings, located between the inner shaft and the outer shaft along the flexible inner shaft portion, can space the flexible inner shaft portion with respect to the outer shaft as the inner shaft moves. The plurality of bearings can help reduce friction between the inner shaft and the outer shaft and help maintain concentricity of the inner shaft and the outer shaft.

  • Publication number: 20230381387
Abstract: A water preparation apparatus for determining an amount of total chlorine in purified water is disclosed. The water preparation apparatus includes a chlorine sensing system, a water pretreatment filter, a reverse osmosis filter, and an electrodeionization (“EDI”) module. The chlorine sensing system is configured to determine an amount of total chlorine in the purified water by applying, at a first time, a source voltage to the purified water and removing, at a second time, the source voltage. The chlorine sensing system then measures, after the second time, an electrical parameter of the purified water. The chlorine sensing system determines the amount of total chlorine in the purified water based on the measured electrical parameter.

  • Patent number: 11187531
Abstract: Disclosed are systems and methods that utilize multicore optical fibers for gyro coil winding. Particularly, the use of multicore fiber enables inherent thermal stability without the need for complex, tedious, and costly winding patterns. Enabling the use of level winding techniques eliminates the need for complex quadrupole winding patterns. This simplicity lends itself to advancements towards full automation of winding coils for multicore fibers, without sacrificing performance. This, in turn increases the production rate and overcomes current barriers to fiber optic gyroscope (FOG) market expansion. In accordance with the embodiments, multicore fiber can be utilized in various gyro coil winding techniques, including: level winding; Interrupted Level Wind (ILW); and Dual Axis Symmetric (DAS) winding. Furthermore, each of the multicore fiber gyro coil winding patterns can incorporate a multicore shuffle bridge.

  • Publication number: 20210215491
Abstract: A system and method for vehicle sharing include a vehicle having sensors, a vehicle computing system (VCS) including a processor and a memory communicating with the sensor and programmed to store sensor data associated with a vehicle sharing trip, and a human-machine interface (HMI) communicating with the VCS and displaying a vehicle sharing trip cost using the sensor data associated with vehicle and/or vehicle component wear and tear incurred during the trip, trip cost savings based on the pricing method, and presenting related coupons. Vehicle sharing cost may be determined for a vehicle use, driver, route, road conditions, parking behavior, weather, etc. based on data from vehicle sensors and external sensors to detect ambient and operating conditions. Sensor data may be communicated to cloud-based networks for processing, analysis, and cost determination using models associating sensor data with component wear, driver's characteristics, historical behavior, and related maintenance and repair cost.
