  • Publication number: 20240263370
Abstract: A method for making a neutral hybrid braided structure may involve positioning a first set of wires on a braiding machine in a first set of positions, positioning a second set of wires on the braiding machine in a second set of positions so that the first set of positions and the second set of positions form a neutral hybrid braiding pattern, and braiding the first set of wires and the second set of wires on the braiding machine to form the neutral hybrid braided structure. Each wire in the first set of wires has a first cross-sectional diameter, and each wire in the second set of wires has a second cross-sectional diameter that is smaller than the first cross-sectional diameter.

  • Publication number: 20240122600
Abstract: Devices used to restrict flow within a blood vessel are disclosed. Devices within the scope of this disclosure include a braided lattice of nitinol wires that form self-expanding enclosures of an embolic structure. The self-expanding enclosures may be sized and dimensioned such that when deployed within a blood vessel, at least one of the plurality of self-expanding enclosures takes on an elongated generally cylindrical shape having opposing generally conical, frustoconical, or semispherical end regions. Methods of manufacturing and using the embolic structures are disclosed.

  • Publication number: 20240074765
Abstract: Embolization devices, including devices formed of wires or filaments, including braided wires or filaments are disclosed. An example embolization device includes a plurality of wires that are braided together to form an elongated sleeve. The elongated sleeve may define an interior region. Related systems, methods of use, and methods of manufacture are also contemplated.

  • Patent number: 11524095
Abstract: The present disclosure provides improved medical delivery devices for delivering a medical device into a subject. In one embodiment, the medical delivery device includes a non-porous composite inner layer constructed of a lubricious material having a plurality of pores and a thermoplastic elastomer reflowed into the plurality of pores. In other embodiments, the medical delivery device further includes a thermoplastic elastomer coated braided metallic member surrounding the nonporous composite inner layer to provide strength and structure to the device.

  • Publication number: 20210290248
Abstract: This application describes various embodiments of an expandable device that includes at least one support member. The support member (or members) is integrated into the structure of the expandable device and increases its column strength, which thus augments pushability of the expanding device through a delivery catheter. The support member allows force applied while pushing from the proximal end of the expandable device to be translated to the distal end of the device and therefore avoid bunching or deformation without increasing the profile of the device to a degree that would prohibit passage through a lumen of a specific required size. Thus, the expandable devices described herein address at least some of the shortcomings discussed above.

  • Publication number: 20200339410
Abstract: Embodiments include a composite saddle tree that is lighter than traditional saddle trees due to its substantially synthetic construction, but retains the functionality of a traditional saddle tree due to its inclusion of at least one accessory engagement member in at least one location where support and/or fastening mechanisms (e.g., screws, pegs, pins, adhesive, and the like) are normally secured. The composite saddle tree is made up of a saddle tree core having at least one depression in which the at least one accessory engagement member is disposed. A reinforcing material covers an outer surface of the saddle tree core.

  • Publication number: 20190062966
Abstract: The present disclosure provides improved braiding methods that utilize a braiding eyelet that may be housed on a carrier in a braiding machine. The eyelet includes a first side, a second side, and a flared opening extending between the two sides. The flared opening includes a slot holder that has first and second slots sized and configured to allow a single end to pass there-through such that when a group of two ends is used for the braiding, each individual end can pass through its own hole or slot to ensure that the end is locked in place and there is no space or clearance allowing them to cross over one another. Many embodiments of the present disclosure are suitable for constructing a medical device.
