Publication number: 20210290248Abstract: This application describes various embodiments of an expandable device that includes at least one support member. The support member (or members) is integrated into the structure of the expandable device and increases its column strength, which thus augments pushability of the expanding device through a delivery catheter. The support member allows force applied while pushing from the proximal end of the expandable device to be translated to the distal end of the device and therefore avoid bunching or deformation without increasing the profile of the device to a degree that would prohibit passage through a lumen of a specific required size. Thus, the expandable devices described herein address at least some of the shortcomings discussed above.Type: ApplicationFiled: March 16, 2021Publication date: September 23, 2021Inventors: John Oslund, Pat Russo, Kevin Dunne

Publication number: 20210283369Abstract: A method for making a neutral hybrid braided structure may involve positioning a first set of wires on a braiding machine in a first set of positions, positioning a second set of wires on the braiding machine in a second set of positions so that the first set of positions and the second set of positions form a neutral hybrid braiding pattern, and braiding the first set of wires and the second set of wires on the braiding machine to form the neutral hybrid braided structure. Each wire in the first set of wires has a first cross-sectional diameter, and each wire in the second set of wires has a second cross-sectional diameter that is smaller than the first cross-sectional diameter.Type: ApplicationFiled: March 10, 2021Publication date: September 16, 2021Inventors: John Oslund, Pat Russo, Kevin Dunne

Publication number: 20200339410Abstract: Embodiments include a composite saddle tree that is lighter than traditional saddle trees due to its substantially synthetic construction, but retains the functionality of a traditional saddle tree due to its inclusion of at least one accessory engagement member in at least one location where support and/or fastening mechanisms (e.g., screws, pegs, pins, adhesive, and the like) are normally secured. The composite saddle tree is made up of a saddle tree core having at least one depression in which the at least one accessory engagement member is disposed. A reinforcing material covers an outer surface of the saddle tree core.Type: ApplicationFiled: April 24, 2020Publication date: October 29, 2020Inventors: William T. Robinson, Kevin Dunne
