  • Patent number: 7695236
Abstract: A versatile mobile utility cart or vehicle using either tracks, wheels or both for suspension and steering with propulsion coming from but not limited to an internal combustion engine or an electric motor. The vehicle is meant to be a utility workhorse with the ability to load and unload itself as well as drag or carry materials. The vehicle can be configured in many ways to do many tasks with the main feature being labor savings. One of the unique features of the vehicle is a loading system called a fork and foot system. For transport the forks and feet system can be raised or detached individually or as a system, this is beneficial when unloading. The foot may remain attached and used for stability. Detaching the fork and foot system as a system allows the vehicle to be used for other tasks including but not limited to: a dump vehicle; a skidder; a reel carrier; a fork lift/carrier; and a prime mover or base for brush chippers, stump cutters, tree spades and more.

  • Patent number: 6596441
Abstract: An electrochemical cell (1) comprises an anode (2), a solid cathode (3) and an electrolyte (4). The electrolyte comprises an electrochemically reactive conductive salt, an organic liquid phase comprising one or more organic compounds; and less than 0.25 M of all ionically charged additive, distinct from the electrochemically reactive conductive salt. The additive comprises a conductive salt which in use is not electrochemically reactive and which has a nitrogen containing cation in a sufficient quantity that conductivity is improved and percentage material utilisation of the cathode is improved at increased discharge rates as compared with a cell using an electrolyte which does not contain the additive. An improvement of approximately 10% in conductivity is achieved for a cell according to the invention using an electrolyte (c) with an additive.

  • Patent number: 6506511
Abstract: A multi-element fuel cell system comprises a substantially cylindrical former (2), a rechargeable hydrogen fuel source (3) and a plurality of fuel cell elements (4). The former comprises a series of interconnecting modules each perforated to allow passage of fuel to the fuel cell elements. Each fuel cell element (4) is positioned radially outwardly of the former (2) and is provided with channels, arranged to receive and direct fuel gas, an anode current collector, a gasket (12), a first diffusion backing layer (8), a membrane electrode assembly (10), a second diffusion backing layer (9) and a cathode current collector (11). The cathode current collector applies even compression to the fuel cell element, such that good electrical contact is maintained within each fuel cell element. The fuel cell elements are electrically connect in series via respective anode and cathode current collectors and then capped at each end of the former for connection to equipment.

  • Patent number: 4757167
Abstract: A circuit breaker having a contact assembly with a double pivot arrangement. The moving arcing and main contacts provide a smooth surface for meeting the lower arcing contact and the lower main contacts, each mounted on a separate semi-stationary lower blade. The lower arcing contact is positioned higher than the lower main contact, making the arcing contact the last to separate from the moving contact. An arc horn is mounted adjacent the moving contacts to provide a path for movement of the arc from the upper contact into the arc stack assembly. The arc horn has three fingers, each of which passes through the cutaway portion of each arc plate of the arc stack assembly upon the contacts separating.
