Publication number: 20240017084Abstract: A system may measure, via a functional Near-Infrared Spectroscopy (fNIRS) device, a first set of measurements of a prefrontal cortex region of a patient. The system may perform, via a transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS) device, TMS treatment to the prefrontal cortex region for therapeutic effect. The fNIRS device may measure a second set of measurements of the prefrontal cortex region. The system includes a processor to determine an applied dosing of the TMS treatment based on the first set of measurements and/or the second set of measurements. The system may output control feedback to the TMS device or visualization to a display to adjust one or more parameters or localization of the TMS treatment based on the applied dosing. The system personalizes the treatment dosing of TMS more accurately over the prefrontal cortex by calibrating the dose to the prefrontal cortex based on measurements from the fNIRS device.Type: ApplicationFiled: July 14, 2023Publication date: January 18, 2024Inventors: Frank Andrew Kozel, Kevin Johnson

Publication number: 20240017082Abstract: A device may include a transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS) device configured to generate a localized magnetic field waveform at a brain region. A device may include an acoustic controller configured to generate an audio waveform having at least one of rhythm, harmonic element, or melodic element synchronized to the localized magnetic field waveform. In various implementations, the brain region is a motor cortex of a patient. The device can evoke or produce neurostimulation effects through acoustic stimulation (e.g., music) through classical (or Pavlovian) conditioning paired in combination with synchronized transcranial magnetic stimulation output. The device can be used to extend the effects of neuromodulation, thus reducing the burden of in-patient visits (for procedural neurostimulation), reducing battery life demand of implanted devices, or simply improving the patient experience with achieving benefits (i.e., by listening to music versus unnatural sensory sensations with neurostimulation).Type: ApplicationFiled: July 14, 2023Publication date: January 18, 2024Inventors: Kevin Johnson, Frank Andrew Kozel, Jayne Standley

Publication number: 20230313997Abstract: A collapsible fire ring product and associated methodology are described. The fire ring product (100) includes flat panels (102) connected by hinges (106). The panels (102) are formed from an inflammable material such as steel. The hinges (106) may be positioned in a space between adjacent panels (102) or may be provided adjacent to the inner faces or outer faces of adjacent panels (102). In the latter case, successive hinges may alternate between the inner faces and outer faces of the panels to allow the panels to collapse in an accordion configuration for storage or carrying. The hinges also allow the panels to be deployed in an extended configuration to form the fire ring. One of the panels (102) may define a spine (108) that extends across the combined thickness of the panels in the collapsed configuration. A detachable or fixed handle (104) may be attached to the spine (108).Type: ApplicationFiled: February 28, 2023Publication date: October 5, 2023Inventor: Kevin Johnson

Patent number: 11407499Abstract: An aircraft landing gear structure includes a strut assembly and a wheel assembly operatively coupled to the strut assembly. The strut assembly includes an upper tubular housing and a lower tubular housing configured to be longitudinally translated with respect to the upper tubular housing such that the overall length of the strut assembly is transitioned between an extended configuration and a retracted configuration for stowage during flight. The wheel assembly includes a forward link pivotally coupled to the upper tubular housing and a truck beam that is pivotally coupled to the lower tubular housing such that translation of the lower tubular housing with respect to the upper tubular housing causes pivoting of the forward link and the truck beam with respect to one another, thereby tilting and/or raising a wheel of the wheel assembly with respect to the upper tubular housing.Type: GrantFiled: February 12, 2020Date of Patent: August 9, 2022Assignee: The Boeing CompanyInventors: Mark Nicholas Simpson, Mitchell Loren Ray Mellor, James E. Patent number: 11274776Abstract: A connector device has male and female parts with respective coaxial passageways. An external screwthread of a collet engages an internal screwthread on the female part and relative rotation between those screwthreads causes engagement of the female and male parts. A slot in the collet extends longitudinally and is open at both ends to enable the collet to be splayed as a split collet. A wedge located between the male part and the collet is displaceable longitudinally to splay the collet and lock the male and female parts in a sealing engagement. The connector includes a ring surrounding the end of the collet remote from the engagement between the male and female parts to resist splaying of the collet at that end. The connector without the male and female parts may also be used for connecting other such male and female parts.Type: GrantFiled: September 8, 2017Date of Patent: March 15, 2022Assignee: KUTTING UK LIMITEDInventors: Lee Peter Shorrock, Kevin Johnson, Peter Shorrock

Publication number: 20220040471Abstract: A system and method used to deliver a percutaneous ventricular assist device (pVAD) or other cardiac therapeutic device to a site within the heart, such as a site at the aortic valve. A flexible device is percutaneously introduced into a vasculature of a patient and positioned to run from a femoral vein, through the heart via a transseptal puncture, and to a femoral artery. The venous-side end of the flexible device is withdrawn out the venous vasculature superior to the heart, and a pVAD is secured to the flexible device. The pVAD is pushed in a distal direction while the arterial-side end of the flexible device is pulled in the proximal direction to advance the pVAD to the target site. A left ventricle redirector aids in orienting the pVAD and preventing migration of the flexible member towards delicate structures of the heart during advancement of the pVAD.Type: ApplicationFiled: June 21, 2021Publication date: February 10, 2022Applicant: Synecor LLCInventors: Richard S. Stack, William L. Athas, Kevin Johnson
