  • Publication number: 20170211729
Abstract: A connector (10) has a male part (12) connected to a female part (50), and each has a passageway which is coaxial with the other when the parts (12 and 50) are connected. A collet (24) surrounds the male part (12), is coupled thereto, and has an external screwthread which engages an internal screwthread on the female part (50), whereby relative rotation between those screwthreads in a given sense causes the female part (50) to sealingly engage the male part (12). The collet (24) has a slot (40) extending longitudinally with respect to the axis of the screwthreads to enable it to be splayed. A wedge (34) between the male part (12) and the collet (24) is displaceable longitudinally with respect to the axis of the screwthreads to splay the collet (24) and lock the male and female parts (12 and 50) together in a sealing engagement.

  • Publication number: 20170082225
Abstract: A connector comprising a cylindrical sleeve device having a first part, with an external screwthread on its outer side, and a second part, with an internal screwthread on its inner side. One of the screwthreads engages a corresponding screwthread on a further part when the device is in use. At least a portion of the said second part is yieldable. A locking part is provided with a screwthread which engages the other of the screwthreads of the cylindrical sleeve device when the connector is in use. The said second part and the locking part have mutually engageable portions which, when the locking part is tightened relative to the cylindrical sleeve device, interengage to cause yielding of the second part or yieldable portion thereof. This effects locking of the cylindrical sleeve device with respect to such a further part when the connector is in use.

Abstract: Pass-through mounting assemblies include an outer sleeve, an inner sleeve, a bushing component, and a cap that are configured to be assembled onto a partition aperture in a partition to retain a tube as the tube passes through the partition. The outer sleeve is sized to fit into the partition aperture. The inner sleeve is sized to nest into the outer sleeve and includes a non-concentric inner rim. The bushing component defines a tube aperture configured to retain the tube and includes an outer rim sized to nest into the inner rim of the inner sleeve. The tube aperture is non-concentric with the outer rim of the bushing component. The cap includes an inner rim sized to nest over the outer rim of the inner sleeve. The tube aperture position may be adjusted by changing the relative angular position of the bushing component, the inner sleeve, and the cap.

  • Publication number: 20160250810
Abstract: A method for printing a three-dimensional part in an additive manufacturing process, which includes calculating surface plane angles relative to one or more of the coordinate axes as a function of surface area of the surface geometry, calculating a build score for each coordinate axis as a function of the calculated surface plane angles, and selecting an orientation for the digital model in the coordinate system based at least in part on the calculated build scores. The build scores preferably predict which part orientations are likely to provide good surface quality for the printed three-dimensional part.

  • Publication number: 20160004824
Abstract: A method, computer program product, and apparatus is provided for providing prioritization of subunits. Visual indications of the prioritization may be displayed on interfaces such as geospatial arrangement. Medical facilities may utilize embodiments to indicate priorities of rooms to which to admit incoming patients. Users and staff within a particular unit may therefore prioritize subunits according to the unit's needs. Users in bed management, which may operate remotely from the unit, may easily identify high priority rooms to which to admit incoming patients. Priorities of subunits may be reassigned accordingly as prioritized subunits are utilized, and as other subunits are newly prioritized.

  • Patent number: 8848059
Abstract: Systems and methods for receiving infrared data with a camera designed to detect images based on visible light are provided. A system can include a camera and image processing circuitry electrically coupled to the camera. The image processing circuitry can determine whether each image detected by the camera includes an infrared signal with encoded data. If the image processing circuitry determines that an image includes an infrared signal with encoded data, the circuitry may route at least a portion of the image (e.g., the infrared signal) to circuitry operative to decode the encoded data. If the image processing circuitry determines that an image does not include an infrared signal with encoded data, the circuitry may route the image to a display or storage. Images routed to the display or storage can then be used as individual pictures or frames in a video because those images do not include any effects of infrared light communications.

  • Patent number: 8643748
Abstract: An electronic optical zoom system (100) includes a first lens assembly (101) and a second lens assembly (102). The first lens assembly (101) and the second lens assembly (102) may be adjacently disposed or concentrically disposed. The first lens assembly (101) and second lens assembly (102), in one embodiment, have different magnification configurations. An image sensor (103) captures electronic images of a subject (109). Optical zoom capability is achieved by an alterable electronic optical device (851), such as a switchable mirror (105). The alterable electronic optical device (851) selectively redirects received light between a first optical path (107) from a reflective surface (106) to a second optical path (117) from the alterable electronic optical device (851) depending upon the state of the alterable electronic optical device (851). The electronic optical zoom system (100) thereby provides optical zoom capabilities in a compact package without the need for physically moving lens assemblies.

  • Patent number: 8379115
Abstract: An image capture system is configured to automatically focus upon an object (113) electronically, without moving mechanical parts. In one embodiment, a focal length alteration device (104), examples of which include an electronically switchable mirror (3041,3042) or an interference layer (204), is disposed between a lens assembly (102) and a reflective surface (103). The focal length alteration device (104) is configured to alter the distance light travels from the lens assembly (102) to the image sensor (101).
