  • Patent number: 8485214
Abstract: A valve assembly for a fuel tank for a small engine includes a housing. A membrane is supported by the housing such that the membrane covers a housing opening. The membrane allows the passage of vapor through the membrane and into the housing cavity and prevents the passage of liquid through the membrane. A pressure relief valve is supported by the housing to control flow of a vapor through the housing cavity.

  • Publication number: 20080105743
Abstract: An improved way to add a wireless peripheral to existing digital systems is taught. A small lightweight and low-cross-section adapter is illustrated that is suitable for use suspended inline with the cables attached to it. The adapter has an embedded wireless port for receiving decoded data from a wireless peripheral, such as a handheld scanner. The adapter is applicable to all wireless peripheral types. For use with handheld scanners, the adapter is applicable to all scanner types, including those where the scan head (scan engine) is based on optical or radio frequency techniques. Hence the scanner data may correspond to optically-scanned printed-codes (e.g., bar codes) or RF-scanned RFID tags. The adapter further has an input connector for communicating with an existing wired peripheral and an output connector for communicating with the existing system unit. To add a wireless peripheral, the adapter is merely inserted between a wired peripheral and the system unit.

  • Publication number: 20070218877
Abstract: A system, method, and computer readable medium for providing a personalized ring back tone comprises receiving a location request return result message (76) at a mobile switching center (24), based on the location request return result message (76), receiving an initial address message (78) at a personal ring back tone platform (12), based on the initial address message (78), receiving an address complete message with an optional backward call indicator parameter (80) at the mobile switching center (24), and providing the personalized ring back tone from the personal ring back tone platform (12) while normal call progress is occurring.

  • Publication number: 20070107244
Abstract: A tool for indicating the flushness between a vehicle body roof panel and a sunroof panel that is adjustably mounted within a sunroof opening of the vehicle body roof panel. The tool will signal a vehicle assembly operator in the event that the sunroof panel needs to be vertically adjusted up or down. The tool includes a housing that sits on the roof panel. A lever is pivotally mounted on the housing and has a feeler extending from the housing to contact with the sunroof panel so that the pivotal position of the lever relative the housing is determined by the degree of flushness or lack of flushness between the two panels. An indicator is associated with the lever to indicate to the vehicle assembly operator whether or not the sunroof panel needs vertical adjustment relative to the roof panel to obtain an acceptable degree of flushness.

  • Publication number: 20060264109
Abstract: Very small non-volatile memory cards are modified to include a connector to which a connector on a separate data input-output card electrically and mechanically mates when pushed together. The input-output card transfers data directly between an external device and the non-volatile memory, without having to go through the host to which the memory card is connected. The input-output card communicates with the external device through a wired or a wireless communication channel.

  • Publication number: 20060164891
Abstract: The functionality provided to electronic devices by application specific removable modules is enhanced by viewing the removable modules as first-level removable modules and providing them with at least one second-level removable slot for selectively nesting second-level removable modules having particular external I/O capabilities. The functionality provided to the electronic devices by such a first-level removable module can thus be provided in part by the application specific circuitry within the removable module and further in part by the type of external I/O of the second-level removable module.

  • Publication number: 20060129331
Abstract: Systems and methods for performing rapid genomic DNA analysis of samples, such as control samples and experimental samples. In one aspect, the system makes use of genomic DNA input, rather than gene expression input such as mRNA and/or cDNA associated with mRNA. The systems and methods perform statistical analyses on data generated from the samples to determine which DNA sequences in an identified set of DNA sequences have a basis of variation in an experimental sample when compared to a control sample, and additionally provide a quantitative measure of this variation. The quantitative measure may be based on metrics such as copy number and/or fold-change. The systems and methods employ this statistical framework in DNA-based evaluation settings, including the evaluation/diagnosis of a pathological condition such as cancer or transgenic analysis of transgenic plants and animals.

  • Publication number: 20050235086
Abstract: Devices and Methods are disclosed for portable devices having a GPS receiver for obtaining location data, a memory for retrieving map data, and which display integrated map and location data. In certain embodiments the device is based upon a generic portable host chassis, such as a PDA having an expansion bus interface such as a CompactFlash interface, and the GPS receiver and map storage functionality are provided by a removable expansion module that serves to customize the portable host as a GPS system. In such removable expansion module embodiments, the GPS receiver location data and the memory may data are transferred from the removable expansion module to the portable host over the expansion interface.

  • Publication number: 20050048567
Abstract: The present invention relates to an internal standard for use in mass spectometry to determine the concentration of a test sphingolipid, the internal standard comprising the same oligosaccharyl chain and long chain base sphingosine as the test sphingolipid and having an acyl group of different mass from the test sphingolipid but providing a sphingolipid of the same chemical nature as the test sphingolipid, and methods for the preparation and use thereof.

  • Publication number: 20010023407
Abstract: A method and system for distributing promotional offers and other incentives to consumers over a communication network and for the consumers subsequently to redeem at least some of the offers is disclosed. The invention includes storing manufacturers offers and/or retail incentives in a database C associated with a co-operative communication network site 2 and providing information from the database to a consumer in a response to a request from a consumer to the database. The consumer may be connected directly to the database or may be given access to the database while logged into a retailer's or manufacturer's network site in such a way that the consumer is not aware that information is coming from the co-operative communication site. In addition, a transactional second database D is provided for recording transactions on the first database C so that when a consumer selects offers, step 27, from the database, an order is generated, step 28, on the transactional database.
