  • Publication number: 20220111578
Abstract: Systems and methods of fabricating corrugated electrospun fiber assemblies are disclosed herein. The method can include placing an electrospun fiber scaffold on a corrugation rod, wherein the corrugation rod comprises a helical structure; applying a monofilament fiber about the electrospun fiber scaffold and the corrugation rod from a dispenser as the dispenser is translated longitudinally and the corrugation rod is rotated such that the monofilament fiber is wrapped about the electrospun fiber scaffold at a defined threads per inch (TPI) to form a wrapped electrospun fiber assembly; and longitudinally compressing the corrugated electrospun fiber assembly until it has been compressed from a first length to a second length to form the corrugated electrospun fiber assembly. The corrugated electrospun fiber assemblies can be kink-resistant as compared to conventional electrospun fiber scaffolds. The corrugated electrospun fiber assemblies can be used in, for example, biological applications within a subject.

  • Patent number: 10959100
Abstract: Gateway hardware/software (such as associated with a router in a subscriber domain) provides multiple communication devices access to a remote network. During operation, the gateway hardware establishes a secured tunnel between the gateway hardware and a remote communication device over a shared communication link. The gateway hardware also establishes a non-secure channel over the shared communication link. The gateway hardware analyzes communications received from multiple communication devices; the communications are destined for delivery to recipients in the remote network. Depending on attributes of the received communications, the gateway hardware selectively forwards each of the received communications over the secured tunnel or the non-secure channel.

  • Patent number: 10520969
Abstract: A system and method for reducing the data transmitted from an energy management system is described. The system and method include a critical event evaluator receiving data from a plurality of data sources, where the critical event evaluator monitors the data for critical events requiring immediate transmission to a monitoring center. A schedule comb and a delta comb receive the data from the plurality of data sources, the schedule comb operable to reduce the data according to data schedule rules stored in a data definition database and the delta comb reduce the data by eliminating data values that have not changed since a previous transmission. The schedule comb and delta comb produce a reduced data set. A queue stores the reduced data set, which is transmitted when the queue reaches a trigger size or a critical event is found.
