  • Patent number: 9270016
Abstract: A method and apparatus comprising a resin layer, a number of conductive elements, and a number of layers of reinforcement material. The number of conductive elements is on the resin layer. The number of conductive elements has a configuration that forms an antenna system. The number of layers of reinforcement material forms a reinforcement for a composite structure, and at least a portion of the resin layer forms a matrix for the composite structure.

  • Patent number: 9169029
Abstract: A method and apparatus for conducting an electrical current between a first transport member and a second transport member. In one illustrative embodiment, a coupling assembly comprises a first fitting associated with a first end of a first transport member, a second fitting associated with a second end of a second transport member, and a seal. The seal is configured for placement around the first fitting and the second fitting when the first end of the first transport member is positioned relative to the second end of the second transport member. The seal is further configured to seal an interface between the first transport member and the second transport member. The seal is comprised of a material configured such that the seal has a level of conductivity within a selected range and such that a conductive pathway is formed between the first transport member and the second transport member.

  • Publication number: 20140174557
Abstract: A method and apparatus for insulating a fluid line in a container configured to contain a fluid. The apparatus comprises a container, a fluid line in the container, and a tube. The container is configured to contain a fluid. The tube is placed around the fluid line in the container to form a channel around a first portion of the fluid line. The tube is configured to contain the fluid from the container in the channel and to prevent a first flow of the fluid between the container and the channel except through a number of ends of the tube. The tube is further configured to reduce a second flow of the fluid within the channel such that the fluid in the channel insulates the fluid line.

  • Publication number: 20130213685
Abstract: A composite structure comprising a matrix and a reinforcement. The matrix comprises a substantially nonconductive material. The reinforcement comprises a conductive material. The reinforcement is located within the matrix to form a composite layer. A portion of the reinforcement is exposed at a surface of the composite layer such that electrical conductivity of the composite layer is increased in a direction substantially perpendicular to the composite layer.

  • Publication number: 20130048134
Abstract: A method and apparatus comprising a structure. The structure is configured to be placed around a fluid line in a container that is configured to hold a fluid. The structure is further configured to reduce a flow of the fluid within a volume of the structure such that the fluid in the volume insulates the fluid line.
