  • Patent number: 12293255
Abstract: A Floquet mode traveling wave parametric amplifier (TWPA) is disclosed. The Floquet mode TWPA comprises a plurality of stages, where each stage is made up of a nonlinear element and a shunt capacitor. The nonlinear elements may be Josephson junctions, or a combination of series and/or parallel Josephson junctions. The Floquet mode TWPA is designed such that the critical current of the nonlinear elements in each stage is not constant. In some embodiments, the ratio of the largest critical current to the smallest critical current in the Floquet mode TWPA is at least 2:1. In some embodiments, the nonlinear elements with the largest critical current are disposed at or near the input or output of the amplifier. In this way, reflections and backward amplification may be minimized. Further, the TWPA is formed using planar capacitors on a high resistivity substrate, or using low loss parallel plate capacitors.

  • Publication number: 20250113520
Abstract: Techniques and mechanisms for a transition metal dichalcogenide (TMD) material to be grown on one structure, and then transferred to a different structure. In an embodiment, one or more monolayers of a TMD material are grown on a workpiece comprising a substrate, a growth layer, and a release layer. A material of the substrate is transparent to a wavelength of a laser light, wherein the release layer is opaque to said wavelength. The resulting material stack is then coupled to a target structure, after which a laser ablation is performed to remove some or all of the release layer from between the substrate and the growth layer. The ablation enables the substrate to be separated from the one or more monolayers. In an embodiment, a residue on a surface of the one or more TMD monolayers is an artefact of the layer transfer process.

  • Publication number: 20250092470
Abstract: Provided herein are methods for detecting and discriminating bacteria and fungal species by nucleic acid amplification, then hybridization analysis on a microarray. Primer pairs are used to simultaneously amplify multiple ribosomal Hypervariable regions from the rDNA or rRNA in bacteria and/or fungi as a multiplex amplification reaction, wherein the resulting hypervariable region amplicon mix is analyzed by hybridization to nucleic acid probes that are complementary to unique sequence determinants within those amplified hypervariable regions. The combination of multiplex amplification and microarray hybridization is used for detection and differentiation of specific species within a microbial set relevant to human or animal health or environmental or agricultural analysis, based on simultaneous analysis of the sequence in two or more hypervariable regions, concurrently.

  • Publication number: 20250051454
Abstract: Recombinant monoclonal antibodies (mAbs) and fragments that bind specifically to an HLA-E-peptide complex, including HLA-E-VL9 complexes, and regulate the cytotoxicity effector cell function of NK and/or CD8+ T-cells positive for cell-surface expression of NKG2A (“NKG2A+”). Herein, monoclonal antibodies were recombinantly derived from isolated functional HLA-E-VL9-specific mAbs from HLA-E-VL9 peptide-immunized HLA-B transgenic mice and from the naive human B cell repertoire. Such antibodies are capable of regulating effector cell cytotoxicity and can preferentially recognize HLA-E-VL9 peptide complexes expressed on the surface of tumor cells. The invention provides methods for using HLA-E-VL9 m Abs to modulate NK and/or CD8+ T-cell function as part of immunotherapeutic strategies.
