  • Publication number: 20240157573
Abstract: Example methods and devices for touch-down detection for a robotic device are described herein. In an example embodiment, a computing system may receive a force signal due to a force experienced at a limb of a robotic device. The system may receive an output signal from a sensor of the end component of the limb. Responsive to the received signals, the system may determine whether the force signal satisfies a first threshold and determine whether the output signal satisfies a second threshold. Based on at least one of the force signal satisfying the first threshold or the output signal satisfying the second threshold, the system of the robotic device may provide a touch-down output indicating touch-down of the end component of the limb with a portion of an environment.

  • Publication number: 20240157439
Abstract: It has been found that duplex monolithic parts can be manufactured in high volume at low cost by using powder metal technology to mold and sinter an inner component of the part into an outer component of the part. This technique reduces the cost of manufacturing intricate metal products by taking advantage of the attributes of powder metal technology in making the inner component of the part. The outer component of the part can be wrought machined, stamped or forged, or made by double press double sinter or forging a powder metal component of the part. In any case, this technique can beneficially be used in making a wide variety of toroid parts, such as gears, clutches, sprags, bearing races, one-way diodes, and the like.

  • Publication number: 20240160632
Abstract: This disclosure describes one or more implementations of systems, non-transitory computer-readable media, and methods that utilize a repository of metadata-based recommendations to classify data sources using metadata from the data sources. For example, the disclosed systems can generate a repository of metadata-based recommendations that indicate recommended classifications for objects within data sources through metadata associated with a data source schema. In some instances, the disclosed systems identify metadata from a data source schema associated with the data source. Subsequently, the disclosed systems can match the identified metadata to a metadata-based recommendation via metadata mappings in the metadata-based recommendation repository to select a metadata-based recommendation.

  • Publication number: 20240157388
Abstract: An internal coating spray machine for cans or containers having spray gun(s) with nozzle(s) which may be automatically cleaned. Each spray gun has a clamp bracket which carries an actuator carrying a cleaning brush. When the actuator is actuated, it carries the brush from a first location (out of the way) to a second location in which the brush moves across the nozzle, cleaning it. The IC machine HMI (human-machine interface) may have a manually actuated control, for example, a button or soft button, which pauses can spraying and carries out a cleaning cycle. It may also use the low infeed sensor of the IC spray machine to detect when cans will be momentarily delayed coming in, and automatically clean during that small hiatus. A timer automatically initiates a cleaning cycle if one has not otherwise happened in a given time Xt.

  • Publication number: 20240160857
Abstract: Systems and methods are provided that train a machine-learned language encoding model through the use of a contrastive learning task. In particular, the present disclosure describes a contrastive learning task where the encoder learns to distinguish input tokens from plausible alternatives. In some implementations, on each training example the proposed method masks out some subset (e.g., 15%) of the original input tokens, replaces the masked tokens with samples from a “generator” (e.g., which may be a small masked language model), and then trains the encoder to predict whether each token comes from the original data or is a replacement produced by the generator.
