  • Publication number: 20160222738
Abstract: A connection between two wellbore components includes a male portion with a plurality of sets of male formations formed on an outer surface and a plurality of male knobs disposed around the outer surface, each knob adjacent a set of the male formations. A female portion has a plurality of mating sets of female formations formed on an inner surface thereof with each set separated by a female gap and a plurality of female knobs disposed around the inner surface, each knob adjacent a set of the female formations. Each male gap is wider than each female formation and each female gap is wider than each male formation wherein the male and female portions can be mated together in a manner whereby the male sets occupy female gaps and the female sets occupy the male gaps and, thereafter, the male portion is rotatable in a counterclockwise direction relative to the female portion to interconnect the male and female formations, thereby preventing axial movement of one portion relative to the other portion.

  • Publication number: 20150275592
Abstract: A method and apparatus for attaching tubulars to a tubular string in a well bore. The apparatus includes a drill rig elevator configured with a rotatable set of slips that grip the tubular to be added to the tubular string. As a result, the elevator can grip the tubular to pick up and position the tubular and can continue to grip the tubular as the tubular is spun to be threaded onto the tubular string in the well bore. The slips can also be moved axially to compensate for movement of the tubular toward the tubular string as the tubular threadingly attaches to the tubular string.

  • Patent number: 8694653
Abstract: The present invention extends to methods, systems, and computer program products for targeted data transfer data between operational domains. Embodiments of the invention facilitate moving data between operational domains inside and outside of a resource cloud. A proxy runs on the boundary of each operational domain, such as, for example, an on premise cluster and a resource cloud. The proxies are capable of resolving the location of the targeted entity and forwarding the data or request on to the next hop, which may either be another proxy or the worker module running on the target node. A proxy can run on the head node of an on premise cluster so that compute nodes on private networks can be targeted. A proxy can also run on a public endpoint within the resource cloud to make nodes within the resource cloud available.

  • Patent number: 8687867
Abstract: Systems and methods are presented that detect and classify mass-like regions exhibiting spiculated and/or dense characteristics with high sensitivity and at acceptable false positive rates. One or more suspicious masses are identified in medical imagery of the breast. In certain embodiments, a quantitative measure of spiculation and quantitative measure of density are computed for each suspicious mass located. At least one classification scheme, developed using true and false positives with similar quantitative measures, is then selected for each suspicious mass according to both quantitative measures. In certain other embodiments, a measure of breast location is computed for each suspicious mass. In one embodiment, the location determines whether a suspicious mass appears inside or outside of the parenchyma region of the breast.

  • Patent number: 8583774
Abstract: A set of interacting devices within a cluster environment may use a secondary naming system to assign and transfer friendly names between devices within the cluster. The cluster may be operated inside, outside, or partially within a cloud computing environment. The secondary naming system may maintain a hosts file within the addressable memory of each member of the cluster, where the hosts file may updated and changes propagated to every member of the cluster so that each member maintains an identical hosts file.
