  • Publication number: 20120202176
Abstract: The embodiments describe vehicle system and method for evaluating driving performance of a driver of a vehicle. The vehicle system objectively evaluates a driver's performance using latitudinal and longitudinal acceleration to determine the smoothness in which the driver operates the vehicle.

  • Publication number: 20120007467
Abstract: A commutator has a plurality of commutator segments fixed to an insulating support member. The commutator segments are formed by cold or hot forming a copper billet cut from a length of copper wire. Each billet has a volume approximately equal to the volume of one commutator segment. Each commutator segment has a main body and an anchor integrally formed with the main body. The commutator segments are spaced about a circle and then an insulating support member is molded to the commutator segments to fix the commutator segments to the support member.

  • Patent number: 7812718
Abstract: An effective method of allowing a sensor node to estimate its own position, based only on coarse distances to its neighbors, together with an embedding mathematical tool. This method involves four major steps for each of the nodes: estimating distances to and exchange distance information with nearby nodes; performing position estimation locally; broadcasting the result; and refining its estimation. It also supports nodes joining/leaving the network and nodes with lower power. Further, because useful information for position-based routing is already embedded during the position estimation process, no extra transmission is required for efficient route determination in reporting data to a collecting node.

  • Publication number: 20070199797
Abstract: The present invention provides a fabric-laminated plastic part and a novel process of locating the fabric upon a plastic substrate component where the fabric extends over a contour of the plastic substrate component.

  • Patent number: 5670378
Abstract: Trace levels of molecular oxygen are measured by introducing a gas containing the molecular oxygen into a target zone, and impacting the molecular oxygen in the target zone with electrons at the O.sup.- resonant energy level for dissociative electron attachment to produce O.sup.- ions. Preferably, the electrons have an energy of about 4 to about 10 eV. The amount of O.sup.- ions produced is measured, and is correlated with the molecular oxygen content in the target zone. The technique is effective for measuring levels of oxygen below 50 ppb, and even less than 1 ppb. The amount of O.sup.- can be measure in a quadrupole mass analyzer. Best results are obtained when the electrons have an energy of about 6 to about 8 eV, and preferably about 6.8 eV. The method can be used for other species by selecting the appropriate electron energy level.
