  • Patent number: 6511232
Abstract: A number of holes (3) are formed in the outer circumferential wall (2) of a tubular metallic pipe (1) at regulator intervals in both circumferential and axial directions. Each of the holes (3) consists of a polygonal opening (4) and raised pieces (5) formed by bending the material from the peripheral edge surrounding the opening (3). This pipe may be used as an insert pipe in injection molding an article such as a lead screw, an optical fiber ferrule or the like. The raised pieces reinforce the part of the pipe surrounding each hole, and enhances the bonding between the molding material and insert pipe.

  • Patent number: 6189180
Abstract: A suction tool for an electric vacuum cleaner includes: a suction tool body which is connected to the vacuum cleaner body and has a suction inflow passage therein for conducting a suction air stream from a suction port, to the vacuum cleaner body; and a movable brush which is provided inside the suction inflow passage formed in the suction tool body and is driven by a driver device. In this tool, the movable brush sways and reciprocates back and forth about a support shaft, perpendicular to the direction of the suction inflow stream. Alternatively, the tool may have a linear motor which operates so as to reciprocate a rod which is liked at one end of it with oscillatory plate pivoted inside the suction tool. Further, this movable brush may be formed of a unit which is composed of a sweeping member having a pair of front and rear sweeping parts and a moving brushing part embedded in between, wherein the front sweeping part is shorter than the rear sweeping part.

  • Patent number: 5941213
Abstract: A control system for an internal combustion engine includes a heat flux sensor arranged in the combustion chamber of the engine, for detecting the heat flux within the combustion chamber. An ECU controls at least one of the amount of fuel supplied to the engine, the fuel injection timing, and the ignition timing of the engine according to operating conditions of the engine. The heat flux sensor detects the heat flux at timing within a range from the latter half of the exhaust stroke of each of the cylinders of the combustion cycle of the engine to the first half of the compression stroke of the following combustion cycle. At least one of the amount of fuel, the fuel injection timing, and the ignition timing is corrected based on the detected heat flux in the same stroke as the compression stroke of the following combustion cycle in which the heat flux has been detected.

  • Patent number: 4704205
Abstract: A tubular module employed for the separation, purification, concentration, etc., of a solution has a plurality of porous support tubes each containing semipermeable membranes which are arranged parallel in a plurality of stages, and which are fixed at both ends thereof by heads containing return bends so as to connect the porous support tubes into zigzags, and are also tightly fastened together by the centers of the heads by means of a single stay bolt. This tubular membrane module is characterized in that the end of the stay bolt does not extend through the head which is remote from the bolt, but ends within that head, and the return bends within the center of the head are bored so as to be further out than the end of the stay bolt to provide communication between the central tubes, so that the solution in the porous support tubes can be easily removed with no partial vacuum generated therein.
