    Abstract: A board-to-board connector can electrically connect a first printed circuit board having a receptacle mounted thereon to a second printed circuit board having a plug mounted thereon. The receptacle includes a first housing and three first contacts and the plug includes a second housing and three second contacts. The first housing includes a concave portion and a first contact accommodation chamber. The concave portion can be fitted to the plug. The first contact accommodation chamber can accommodate a winding portion of the first contact. In the first contact, a lead terminal is fixed to the first printed circuit board and a contact terminal is fixed to the first housing. In the first contact, the first housing is movably supported by the winding portion with respect to the first printed circuit board.

The surface of the extension portion of the housing and the surface of the memory card exist substantially on the same level when the grooves of the memory card are fitted to the extension portions of the housing.

The second contacts extend toward the first contacts and include: first contact portions provided at distal ends of the second contacts; and second contact portions provided further on proximal end sides of the second contacts than the first contacts. According to the invention, when the thick memory cards is inserted, the second contact portions come into abutment against the thick memory card, and when the thin memory cards is inserted, the first contact portions come into abutment against the thin memory card. Thus, durability of the connector can be improved.

    Abstract: The present invention relates to a connector which is electrically connected to a memory card. The connector includes a substantially cylindrical housing and plural elastically deformable contacts inside the housing. The housing includes a card insertion slot which is cut and formed on one end side thereof and an abutting portion which is provided on the other end side of the card insertion slot. The plural contacts are provided in positions opposed to the card insertion slot and extend toward the other end side of the housing and the abutting portion. A gap between the distal ends of the plural contacts and the abutting portion is set smaller than a thickness of the memory card. According to the present invention, when the memory card is inserted in the card insertion slot and a proximal end side of the memory card is inclined to the other end side of the housing, a distal end of the memory card slides on surfaces of the contacts.
